Here is my review (short and sweet) of Tera. Im a hardcore gamer being that only CERTAIn games appeal to me. Ones that are DIFFICULT challenging and engaging.
I give tera biased 7.5 on my quality scale
Maybe 8 or 8.5 we will see from gamespot / ign.
Why 7.5?
Combat is great regardless of pvp balance.
there are too many quests especially little baby ones. it makes quests feel repetitive. becuase its go there talk to him go back kill that come back go here. (this needs to change) you could also make some of them HARDER to make them different. but people keep saying how bad they are bc its a copy and paste questing method. remember hogger? he was somewhat challenging making the game "fun" makes it feel like questing is different but really its not. catch my drift?
so to make questing more fun get rid of the little stupid baby ones. like go to talk to this guy. next make them harder. i should be worried about aggro like in wow. i dont anymore. too easy removes immersion and makes the game boring. ALAMUR!.
graphics sounds feel is all good.
UI can use some tweaks. quests font is SMALL. TOO SMALL
and DIVERSION everywhere. maybe add an area where people go specifically to duel. or give monsters different attack animations. so easily you can make a RED zone where monsters attack %30 faster. so those trees may ACTUALLY hurt you lol. or a zone where aggro is INSANEly sensitive. catch my drift?
change it up. these are SMALL recommendations that doesn't take much time to implement.
its the little things that count. and from going to 1-10 every zone felt the same every monster was the same every quest was the same. ADD CHALLENGE / ZONE EFFECTED MONSTERS (%attack speed) / Aggro MORE / how bout a zone where there are 50 1 hit kill monsters like litle piggies. CMON THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.
