I posted this in another thread...then i read the QOA part 2 update about how there's T14 coming and it feels like I just got kicked in the balls. If you guys are going to turn this into a gear progression game you HAVE either remove enchanting or make it dramatically cheaper. I will not be putting this kind of effort in ever again.

Here has been my tera experience so far at level 60

Grind 1-60 (Hey that was easy! This isn't a typical asian grind fest!)

Grind 410 focus crafting (about 20k gold, I should be able to use this to make money and enchanting fodder right? LOL NOPE)

Grind 300 fane steel (About 64k gold, My group did a fanesteel pool system, i am currently in debt to them 45K)


Acquire 35 master enigmatic scrolls to unlock mastercraft after spending literally 85K gold crafting the freaking thing (LOL?)

Grind instances to sell loot and acquire fodder to throw into my bow...hours and hours and hours of work. (Work in progress)

Today I dropped about 8k gold (T13 Fodder sells for about 650-800 gold + 13 refined dust) got 0 successful attempts.

This is after i spend god knows how much money getting to +8 in general.

Since this posted I have dropped about another 7k gold and am still +8

And then I go into PVP drop a single exploding shot into a group of people and 1 shot myself on reflect damage...guess I got out played by successfully landing an ability.

What I've learned from this thread is that I need to roll 30% reflect on my chest immediately.

Gear progression is not bad, i prefer it to WOW style of new level cap every expansion, which resets all gear, and rat race begins again.

But implementation of it in TERA is terrible. First there is no real reward, ie. you do not go to new instances/raids, you keep grinding same places forever. Second, whole idea of enchant fodder combined with class restricted loot is stupid, and its reason for such things as kicking zerkers etc.
Use tokens/orb system like fanesteel instead of that enchant fodder for enchanting.

And then we have that whole stupid korean grind instead of proper endgame.

Also doing as op did, farming forever to get weapon that is useless in result, i see no reason besides epeen factor. Yes all that gear you worked so hard is useless, because that same moment you get your last item enchanted to max level, there is nothing more to do in TERA for you. No raids, no challenges, no PVP even, gear progress is just for progressing with gear.

It's pretty fun.

last night i took my lancer out to farm eggs and encountered another lancer with the exact same gear as me except the elin had +9 hands I have only +8 hands everything else +9

We both have 30% reflect.

We both literally spent the entire fight (almost 10 minutes long) only really doing damage to each other when the reflect is applied. Was pretty epic.

Reflect makes awesome lancer vs lancer battles

All these things will eventually be true of just about any mmo.
Perhaps you just don't like the genre.

Though I do agree enchanting needs some kind of work over.

Have MMO players these days gotten so babie'd in the past that they HAVE to have an incentive provided by the game itself to do something?

Why can't people not make their own goals, and work to accomplish them?

Why can't you get that +9 gear set all done and feel accomplished, without something in the game handing you something for having done it. Isn't the fact that you have +9 stuff good enough, you need more?

I see soooo many complaints on the forum about enchanting, and having to get crafting to 410, and having to do this, and that, bla bla and you receive nothing when you're done (crafting isn't worth it, etc.) .... ok, then don't do it? If it's such a pain in your [filtered] to do all these things, why are you even doing them?

Yeah, so the RNG sucks for you while it's just fine for others. Wait, what? It's a RANDOM number generator? oh... random. As in, different every time you try... I guess people think random = try x times and you are successful. Wrong. You can flip technically flip a coin 1000 times and never land on heads. Are you people going to say the coin is broken if that happens?
