You make a great point! Which is why I suggested what I suggested. Instead of having it a Vendor money sync, why not benefit the players who work on crafting!


This would force every person to take weapons as a craft because in the gaming world players are not known for their honesty. I would imaging the GM's would be spending most of their time responding to tickets from players who had lost their items to the crafter.

I think also you are assuming that EVERY enhance attempt is going to succeed but the reality is some are going to fail you just wont lose the levels you have already achieved. Knowing my enhancing luck 1 in 10 attempts will succeed so I would hardly call that FREE. :D


No, this wouldn't cause every player to work on Blacksmithing as a craft.

It's what guilds, friends and other players are for. As for 'untrustworthy' players, I am going to use the WoW trading system as a great example because it's quite awesome.

You open trade with a player, you place the item in the "No Trade" slot, player clicks your item and you give them coin. Bam, you just enchanted your item without handing it over to someone else.

I do know that there is still a chance to NOT gain the + on your item, I just personally think that if they want to remove the chance of an item decrease; then why not revamp the system to something that will put coins in the players pockets for crafting. Giving players more of a reason to use crafting in the game. Especially something that almost every player will want.

Blacksmithing would be a hot crafting job.

I just happen to like the change fine as is... Having a different opinion don't make someone stupider then you... Just means they disagree... from the looks of it I am not the only one either....


You're entitled to your opinion, and that's fine. That's not what you were doing though. You were assuming I said one thing, when in reality you didn't actually read anything I stated and assumed a conclusion of what was in the body of text I wrote.l

no. simply make the new alkahest something for end game clans to fight over.


The game is for all to play and have fun in not just the few leet guilds who will end up ruling. In fact keeping the enchant system more readily available to all is a super good strategy for helping keep the end game content more balanced.

Losing an enchant level you have received can soon set you back from +10 to +0. Last few games Ive played the enchant system has been so severe I no longer play the games.

There is no fun playing a game and ending up frustrated because RNG rules the game. My opinion is if it is easier for all to reach +12 then it just keeps the game a lot more balanced than just favouring those players who can spend major hours farming to make the money.


Your idea could work Invalid. I kinda like it.

I've always wanted the Tera devs to try something different instead of copy/pasting their enchant system from every other terrible F2P Asian-MMO out there. They could of did better.

Instead we got just another frustrating slot machine of a system. Lovely. For that, I am glad for the change they just implemented and maybe one day they'll tweak it some more.. maybe like your suggestion? Idunno. I always thought if they changed the enchant system one day it would take some skill or some kind of PvE-PvP effort. Something that would take away the ol' dice toss.

I am just glad the -1 bull[filtered] is gone. The above quote explains it nicely.
I swear it was like I was playing Vindictus or War of the Immortals again... yet I'll be paying a monthly fee for my -1's instead! /sigh

Agreed with invalid. These crying clowns wants an easy game without working hard for it. Hey look i farmed all week i got 10000000000000000000 gold now i can +12 all my gear good job! now end game everyone will have +12 so fun!.....

If you guys want easy upgrading and gameplay go play WOW or hello Kitty Online. Leveling in this game is already easy, now the clowns wants to make enchanting easier, than what? Make Boss have lower life so you can solo it?

Stop ruining a GOOD GAME!

There needs to be stuff for people to fight over. Leet rare items and territory are the best things for that. Those alkahest would still be available to the entire userbase through clans selling them. This would give an incentive for clans to fight eachother to earn easy passive income, and the economy would take it from there.

I guess you haven't played any real group-based mmos have you? Just enjoy running your 5 man instances all day long for no risk/full reward?

The initial statement stated my own personal opinion, hence the thread title "My opinion on". I then began to supply alternative suggestions that would benefit other aspects of the game instead of having enchanting be strictly a vendors money sync.

And as stated you're 100% entitled to your own opinion.


The changes don't make me dislike the game at all, it's just a small gripe that I have. I'm not playing this game for it's enchanting system. I'm playing the game for political domination, pvp and boss fights.

In 13 years of online gaming Ive played many different types of games. Im not the type who stays faithful to a game till death do us part. When they lose their lustre I go looking elsewhere. So you feel free to guess and assume all you like :D
