My thoughts on free +12 items.

Does OP realize that you can still fail an enchant? The only thing removed was the chance of it decreasing by 1.

Honestly, this removed a huge portion of the risk to enchanting. Now you just lose the item you're sacrificing. Before you were expected to sacrifice a lot, arguably more so due to potentially regressing on failure. Now there's really no reason not to keep throwing stuff at an item until it sticks and +1's the item. What else are we going to spend our gold on? Dyes?

Considering it requires the same amount of powders as the items tier level to attempt to upgrade once, higher level equipment is going to be extremely expensive to upgrade than it use to be.

With how the new system is, you are going to REQUIRE the more expensive powders, which are now even more expensive, and don't forget how you will almost need blue/golds at +8 and higher as fodder.

In a sense, all they are really doing is making it cost 2-3x as much, but removing the -1 from happening. It's still the same success rate. I don't see how people can make such a big fuss over this... it's still all about who can blow the most gold away trying to upgrade.

I'm not saying I'm agreeing or disagreeing here but I saw quite a lot of qq about how hard/boring/broken/whatever enchanting was so I wasn't at all surprised that the changed it. (Notice I said change not "fix") I only saw a few here and there speaking against those complaints though. Could have missed something of course, but the thing is if you only speak up after you're disappointed it's too late. It sucks that that's how it is but the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

This was a reality BEFORE the changes. Now the powders are hard locked into ranges, as opposed to the player picking which one they feel is the best deal. You didn't continue to use the white powders or white equips beyond +5, it just wouldn't work in your favor at all.

No, whatever anyone says about how this system still has detriments is WRONG. The -1/+1 was the issue, not the simple fact people spent tons of gold moving it anywhere. Now that the -1 of the equation is gone, it's simply an act of throwing enough $#!% at it until it moves forward. And again, what exactly are you going to spend your gold on when at the level cap?

What was once rare is now standard. This can not be argued. I'm not arguing the system should be changed back, and I know that's what it sounds like because I'm disagreeing, but I do think people are over exaggerating the "demands" of the newer system like it's actually more costly than it was before. It's not. It's extremely forgiving in comparison.

Sad part is, I know people will come racing to these forums eventually to ***** about the low success chance...

Too lazy to read the full thread, so forgive me if this has already been said.

The OP's method won't work because there wouldn't be enough of a gold sink.
A LARGE part of enchanting is to remove gold from the economy so that it continues to function. If they had other sufficient money sinks, there would be no reason to be able to upgrade your gear at all.

I think it might be wise to see how difficult it still is to upgrade before getting too upset about the changes.

I don't get what it is with the WoW babies of modern MMOs that they demand everyone has the exact same gear. Why do you want that? It makes the game so boring. Not only does it make it so that everyone is essentially playing the exact same character but it also leaves you with nothing to strive for.

I wish the people who didn't want to put in work would just stop playing MMOs. They're ruining the genre for people who actually enjoy it. These people should go play Farmville or WoW or some other game more geared toward their demands.

According to information from K-tera players, +12 geared players can one shot a +9 player, so why wouldn't you want to be on even footing when rolling on a PVP server. Players just want the game to be more skill based than lucky one shot killed by an inferior player just because he lucked out and RNG'd a +12 weapon. Maybe if they didn't make the difference between +9 and +12 gear so severe people would stop QQ'ing about a harder road to +12. That way people can still brag that they got +12 have their feeling of acccomplishment and give them a slight edge in battle but not overwhelming.
