So they did preorders last week to try and steal the thunder from Tera character creation.
Now they're doing their first weekend beta this weekend up against Tera's open beta.
And their second weekend beta is next weekend up against head start and launch.

Sigh.

Well at least the GW2 fanbois won't be around to annoy us during open beta.

Could just be coincidence. Since the releases are pretty close. Also FFXIV is going to release their next patch around May 1st too.

In NCSoft's case, since they can't stop EME from launching, they might as well try to put out beta on the same days as EME's event to attract some fans away from TERA I suppose.

Video games are a competitive market. Such strategies are not only expected, they are almost required. If they don't do that, bored GW2 fans might hear about a open beta for another MMO about to go off and decide to check it out. Then some of them would reconsider their choice of MMO. NCsoft had to do it as a defensive move anyway.

Not trying to defend NCsoft or whatever. They provide horrible service and games 99% of the time. Just saying that in this case, the move is not stupid, it's almost mandatory.

And yes NCsoft is still pressing charges against EME and BHS. The courts and lawyers are dealing with this and it will not affect the launch schedule of TERA.

The only thing they have actually announced is that there will be one weekend beta at the end of this month. I suspect that means 4/27-4/29. Like Cinge said they have said only 1 beta a month. You have gotten incorrect info from somewhere for sure.

The only game I am expecting from NC is Blade and Soul, I have no interest in GW2

I haven't got any email about it since I've prepurchase it, which is WEAK. I just check also lol.The whole prepurchase thing to get into beta is already meh. So we have to see if the rumors are true. Even IF they do have it this weekend, I will have no time to try it out anyway. I would be too busy lvling up in Tera, because I feel that there is no point in lvling in GW2. So why did I get the game? I gotta try it out before I judge it. Gotta see what all these hype about lol. It also doesn't have a subscription.

Also why would Blizzard release Diablo 3 so close to Tera?
