Named Mobs and crowding issues

In CBT you had this problem with the evil Tree Vekas. Too many people crowding around one spot.

Well, the problem is happening again in other areas. Having to kill a named Satyr for the level 16 campaign quest is a huge pain.The problem is the system you're using to register mobs.

Some games like to use a tap system. Hit the mob once, it's registered to your group.
Others like to use a damage system. The one who does the most damage to the mob will have it registered to their group.

Problem with TERA is that you need both to satisfy this claim.

Got the tap but didn't do 51% of the damage? Doesn't count.
Did 51% of the damage but didn't get the tap? Doesn't count.

Please, change it to one or the other. But combining both makes taking out named monsters impossible with large server populations :(

I guess you don't notice that there's a channel system in-game? switch to another channel when it's too crowded. At least for Vekas there are like 40 channels so there should be no problem.

Don't know if the channel system was broken, but last night on VoT there was a max of 7 channels for Oblivion Woods. 50+ people in each one waiting for a kill. No one getting credit cause of the current systems registration.

Only way we did that quest was by grouping up guildies and completely take control of a channel by force.

If it's in Arcadia 7 channels is even more than Dragonfall, where I played at. We have only 4 channels. I have pain killing a named mob in the story quest. I grouped with other four people and still needed to spam skills to "grab" the mob. I guess it's really a pain for soloer. Just group with other people and it will be much better and efficient for the whole server.

Doesn't matter if you get the tap.

You have to get the tap AND do 51% of the damage.

Now take 50+ people hitting a mob for 300, when the mob only has 3k hp.

And now you know why no one is getting credit.

Has nothing to do with grouping. It's how the game registers mobs to you. You need to satisfy both, not just one. And it makes it near impossible to do certain quests in a high population.

I had a little issue with an orc guy you had to kill in starting island, I got the first hit, but then some warrior rushes in and beats the crap out of it, and I dont get the kill, im like, wtf? I didnt realize this was why, but that doesn't sound really fair, suppose some trolls might find some fun in denying kills, but... thats like the only reason i can see for doing this.

If you tap, and you contiune to attack it... you get it, doesnt have to be 51%. If that was true than i would have had all my stuff KS'd since im a lancer.

IF you Tap and dont actively attack it in a certain time frame, you will lose "ownership"
