this [filtered] needs to get fix back to how it was
My biggest concern is how are people going to get the technique readily available to complete HMs if normal modes are nerfed to be less punishing?
Nerfing instances is a bad omen for games, Blue Hole should learn from ocidental fiascos that started with that.
IMO nothing in this game is ridiculously hard - people often call "hard" whatever is not tank-spank. So if a dertermined instance boss has an unique kind of fight (and strategy to beat it). Lets say for example the the gorilla family in A.S.: thats a very fun fight, to decide the order to kill them based on their abilities and all.... but of course you'll have people crying "oh noes, its too hard", but thats just because they don't want to try anything else than tank-spank and watch out for avoidable party damage.
Trying something you're not used to is one of the aspects of a challenge - and when you OVERCOME that challenge you feel like you and your team did something great. I want the game to be at least difficult enough to make me pay attention to the fight (instead of playing while watching TV or something) and enough to pull the best of me into it.
All of this "elite player" thing is also BS imo. I mean, it creates this image of someone playing several hours a day, all days per week and then people (including themselves) start to think that only this kind of player can beat the hard-mode dungeons of the game. I met several players in LOTRO that would be trustable players to do the hardmost raids of the game (and they are pretty hard and complex, ask any LOTRO player) and those players would play like 2 or 3 days per week, 3 hours max on those days. This game can be hard but not to the point where it recquires a "special kind of human" to overcome its challenges.
The main difference between hardcore and casual players (or semi-casual like me lol) in that given aspect is that casuals take one week or two to learn the hardest bosses (because we have less time for repeated tries), while hardcore players learn it on a day or two. In given time, everyone learns and everyone wins.
That is, if you try to learn after you don't succeed, instead of comming here to forums to cry your eyeballs out that "that boss is too hard" just becase you didn't tank-spanked it like an ordinary open-world BAM. Believe me, its much more fun to truly win THERE in the game instead of here in the forums. To do something new and fun instead of doing the same thing, in the same fashion, to beat everything.
And I hope BlueHole does not dumb down the game, this game is my hope from playing something that does not goes with the WoW mind-set.
instead of nerfing it down, just decrease the cd of bt and dane hm
Someone should make an MMO strictly for elitists. Call it "Desolate Landscape".
People need to chill out lol, they are nerfing the normal mode content for casuals yes, however, I believe they are doing it so that people are geared out in HM gear by the time the new content patch comes at the end of summer.(which is coming up soon) Especially with such a long cd time on the runs for there.
