I enjoyed the last beta weekend. And EA/Bioware can say "Thank You Tera" because I just canceled my sub to Tor. But I'm wondering about something, is the Korean version of Tera getting additional content and is there any news about an expansion? I'm hoping this game does well enough in NA market that we will see new content for the next few years. Just not sure on how well this game will do to warrant an expansion for this market. I dont see this game being any higher then 3rd in subs, behind games like WoW (duh), Rift, and TOR.
Rift has like 50k subs atm.
and is profitable because of its small team.
if Tera reaches and sustains 100k.... i think that will do.
Being a MMO player for about 10 years, I have to say this is one of the most fun MMOs I have ever played. I think it will do really really well. The combat system alone is enough to get people hooked. All they need to do it focus on future content. I'm excited to see what they add in future expansions. They can do so much with this game. It's a great change of pace from all other MMOs I have played. Of course WoW will be at the top for some time still, but being 3rd in subs is still pretty damn good. Take for instance FFXI. That one wasn't for just anyone. You really had to put the time and effort into your character, and it is still goin strong with it's dedicated player base. I am going to really enjoy Tera upon release, and I'm sure there will be quite a lot of people that will as well.
I'm not really worried about the amount of Subs as long as the game produces enough cheese$$$ for new content. For the 1st time I will play on a pvp server and hopefully find a populated server. Rift only has 50k subs? Are u sure about that? Sounds really low for a good game.
And thank you for the link. The expansion looks yummy! Hmmm yummy might be a good elin name. Things looking good for us. No more worthless tab targeting and no more (1 button/me not thinks) about what is actually going on (WoW, Rift, TOR) but Action, Aiming, and Some Brains.......mmmm Brains.

I do feel the Asian atmosphere about this game will be a turnoff for people here in the States. And know the failing franchise Final Fantasy is not a valid way to compare. I been playing FF since VII and right now it sells due to its name.
What the hell do any of us know? I also like that this game is rated mature although the beta was horrible in terms of maturity level for players. But I should expect that in a beta.
