lol @ 2k chrono scrolls. no self respecting, hard working individual will equate their 2hours of REAL LIFE Physical Labor for 2k in-game money. 2k is something you can earn from a drop in a 15minute dungeon run, is what their mentality would be.

Physical Labor > In Game 'work'

So unless you have people who likes to blow real cash for minimal compensation, I highly doubt 2k will be a settling point for $15. (altho, i know a few people who will settle for this)

30days of gaming lets you run a minimum of 30 instances, once a day, on average you'd get 5-8 sellable drops out of those 30 runs. At a minimum selling price of 1k, you're still looking at 5-8k. MINIMUM pricing. Now if you're running Hard Modes, with your guild and farming... those 30days can be very profitable to you. So, my duty as a seller, is to not get ripped off... and price my item in projection to your assumed profit from my product. If you don't farm, that's your problem, but I sold you the scroll, priced under the assumption that you'll be farming.

DO you guys really believe its to rid tera of gold farmers??? to help the community?? lol open your eyes, just another revenue source for eme.

I knew someone was eventually going to bring this up. EME does not profit off of Chronoscrolls.

Without Chronoscrolls:

Player A - Pays 15.00 a month to play.

Player B - Pays 15.00 a month to play.

EME makes: 30.00.

With Chronoscrolls:

Player A - Pays 15.00 a month to plays.
Buys a Chronoscroll for 15.00.

Player B - Buys Chronoscroll from Player A with virtual game gold.
Pays EME 0 to play that month.

EME makes: the same 30.00.

All EME is doing is facilitating a transaction to buy gold between players.

Gold always has, always will, and always SHOULD equal power in an MMO. The player buying chronoscrolls gets to skimp out on in-game time to aquire their ends, but have to pay real money for it. The players who buy chronoscrolls use their well earned gold to avoid paying any real money, even on a subscription. It's a win-win situation. Time is money and money is...time?(??!)

You can bet that the players buying chronoscrolls will be the ones who already have their fully kitted out end game gear and are able to make gold fast by running their instances and playing market.

It will be interesting to see what they sell for after the market settles down. Currently the weapon skins sell for ~ 1k on average, and they cost $10 a piece (On VoT). This means that if chronoscrolls follow the same pattern they will on sell for 1.5 - 2k. Not really worth it in the long run when most pieces of gear cost anywhere from 4k for low demand pieces to 8k for high demand pieces.

Those weapon skins have a limited demand due to only one or two of them being worth paying for. Not to mention once you have it... you don't need it again. Being able to purchase game time is something that will hold it's value throughout the life of the game. However, If it's 1.5-2k per scroll on VoT, I agree, I don't think it'll be worth it. IMO they should at least go for what Arise & Awake's go for... 5.5-7k. That is easily farmable with the time you get from the scroll.

This is true - but, EME is still benefitting from this financially. The "rate" by which they acquire that revenue does increase. Its like a large sum of the player base buying 6 month subscriptions in advance - without a discount. This is extra monetary cushion for EME. Its brilliant really.

The company wins and the players win. The only issue I see arising out of this is that once the market gets flooded with players who can now suddenly afford to blow large sums of gold off of their newly aqcuired gains to buy gear and fodder, supply of those items will burn up that much faster.

As a result hardcore farmers will be able to demand high prices for all those items because they will be in short supply due to the influx of chronoscroll sellers.

This in turn may hurt players who are casual, only being able to farm for limited amounts of time and are unwilling or unable to purchase chronoscrolls.....maybe.

On that same note, however, those people who bought and sold chronoscrolls becasue they only have a few hours (at most) to play per day and can't farm like the active players (who are selling those items) can, will then be able to use that gold they got from chronoscrolls to gear out. Once they've geared out, they can spend those few hours a day running dungeons instead of farming trying to slowly make enough gold to get their items. And... if they already have everything they need because they used chronoscrolls to get the gold to buy the stuff, then when they get a drop in that dungeon they can in turn put it up on the broker instead of keeping it because they need it.

It's not the same thing as weapon skins. Think about it this way: If you saw 30 days of gametime on the AH for 1-2kG, would you buy it just because it's so cheap and a "free" month? Most people would, which means the price is going to be naturally a lot higher than that.

didn't think bout that but definitely a plausible situation.

Get rid of gold sellers? Is that how people spin it these days? It's a blatant pay2win addition. Don't have time to farm 10000 gold or whatever they will sell for on the AH? Pay $15 to buy gold from EM. And it will work, as there people desperate enough for gold that they are selling $10 weapon skins for < 1000 gold now. I don't really care as I will take advantage of these people with more money than sense to play Tera for free and pick up skins for free, but really stop trying to spin these scrolls as anything but EM selling gold in the cashshop.
