I am one of those people who like to believe in the idea of a level playing field in my MMO virtual world, and virtual economy.

I don't like the idea that even in the idealized adventurous setting that is presented to us, those who are richer (or just less fiscally responsible) than their fellow players are able to excrete real world currency in exchange for short-cutting part of the game's designed mechanics to achieving a goal.

While I strongly feel that I am not alone in this opinion, it seems like there are quite a few people who don't share my view as well.

So to me, the solution would be to have Chronoscroll and non-Chronoscroll servers. Just as we have PVE and PVP, then we'd have essentially "RMT Sanctioned" and "RMT Restricted" servers.

People who want to play on a server where the virtual economy is affected by players being able to artificially afford exorbitantly high prices on goods, can go ahead and play on those servers. People who want to play on servers where the economy is more based on effort-acquired currency can do so as well without external RMT-influence.

Im not sure i completely understand the chronoscrolls. I get that you can buy game time with in game gold but is it only one way or can someone sell in game time for game gold?

Not sure either of ya understand how they work.

Player buys chrono scroll from EmE for $15. They get this item in game. This item then can be used, traded, sold and so on just like any other item in the game. When it is used it gives the player 30 days of game time.

Its not something that going to unbalance the economy. If it did, Eve online would not be using the Exact same system. As its the only game on the market with a fully functional player driven market.

Also do not agree with no chrono servers, it defeats the whole reason for chrono scrolls.. unless you Love gold seller spam on your server.

You buy scrolls for real cash, and trade them in game for in-game money.

BTW, agree with "No Chronoscroll" server.

Chronoscrolls is pretty much RMT but done in a legal way, because it's done in-game, EME is the one reaping the profits, and they're overseeing the transactions. I would rather have this than people buy currency from third-party gold sellers. And besides, free game time? HELL YEAH! How anyone would be against this is beyond me.

Might as well label your server as "hardcore".

RMT is a way to make casual players (who -usually- have more money than a hardcore one) compete with hardcore players (who have more time than a casual, thus can farm in game money). If the casual player buys in game gold, they save a big amount of time they would have spent farming otherwise.

Not saying there aren't rich hardcore players and poor casual ones, I'm just generalizing.

What I'm trying to say is, chances are that only hardcore players play on that server and that might not be a very lively server.

I like chronoscrolls! Unless they cost an insanely amount of gold I plan on buying one once in a while for free game time if we can achieve a healthy economy even with BoP. If I can get free gametime and a casual will less time to play get my extra gold for whatever he needs, I think it's ok.

As long as the epic stuff cannot be bought I have no problem with that.

Topic is stupid simple because chronoscrolls or not some ppl buy gold either way and even if EME get rid of chronoscrolls they cant get rid of gold farmers/sellers, so if some ppl r going to buy gold anyway let them do it by help the company who bring Tera to us and by help other players who cant afford the monthly subscription it's a win/win situation and I am all for it, not every1 after all can afford to pay monthly subscription and Tera have many good f2p games to compete with, chronoscrolls r a good addition and there is no reason to remove them because nothing is gonna change other than mass-quits after 2-3 months due to monthly subscription at least now ppl can buy time with ig money.
