Why give people options like that though? If you let the PvE servers have everything the PvP servers have, why have PvP servers at all? Honestly?

Unless they make it so every single person in the guild has to accept the GvG, it could unwillingly force PvP on someone who has no interest in it, defeating the purpose of the server.

you know. there is alot of pvp that goes on in pve servers -_-

and ive never been in a guild, or would ever be in a guild that would do that without talking about it and everybody agreeing, or people even leaving and coming back when its over.

As mentioned before GvG is not the same as OWPvP. They are very very different. Why have battlegrounds on PvE servers, or duels even? That's the same thing. I just don't want to be ganked while quest grinding. It doesn't mean that two guilds shouldn't be able to duke it out if they agree to it

GvG can easily force PvP on someone who is completely unwilling, which defeats the purpose of a PvE server

That's up to the Guildmaster to make the decision. They are in charge of their guild so they should also know if their members are down for it. No one is forcing the others to step in the fray.

Yes, guildmasters are in charge of the guild, however the player has specifically rolled on a PvE server with the intent of having no unintentional PvP, which by joining a guild on a PvE server that advertises itself as a PvE guild, can nullify their ultimate decision of no unintentional PvP by having the Guildmaster declare war and thus give the opportunity for that player to be killed without their consent to PvP.

You can make the argument that by joining a guild they override their right to that decision, but that defeats the purpose of joining a PvE server all together, the purpose being to avoid all non-consensual PvP. EME should not give the power to decide whether or not players will have a choice to PvP in the hands of the Guildmasters (also players), that power should be kept with EME and therefore in the server choice.

there are plenty of reasons to join a pve server. i dont think thats the only, or strongest reason for doing so.

If you happen to be in one of the two guilds that agree to duke it out and you're off grinding, you can get steamrolled by anyone in the other guild, just because your GM happened to want to go to war.

I wouldn't put the trust in a GM to make a decision that everyone is unanimous for, as reaching a unanimous decision is nearly impossible in most situations.

They could just do a mutual GvG. Both guilds have to accept. Why not give us it? Make it like a large scale duel?

^^This^^

Make it a mutual declaration of war and everything will be fine.

Okay, so assuming that's not a strong reason, why does EME even bother with PvE servers? If you get GvG and what is stated isn't a strong reason, then there's really no reason to have PvE servers at all, as that's the only clear distinction between the servers.

What are the strongest reasons for joining a PvE server, then, in your opinion?

If a member of a guild didn't like the war declaration, they can leave the guild. They always have a choice to not fight.
