There's a difference between PVP and PK, if the person fights back it's PvP, when someone at cap level hangs out in a beginner area killing lowbies is PKing. There's an absolute 0 chance of doing anything about it.

There's one thing when someone around my level trying to kill me I'll just fight back, but when someone is high enough to one shot me the moment I step outside of town every single time without any repercussion is something different altogether.

Penalties exist to keep people in check, It's like you know, real life? You can still kill people but you'll have to accept the price. I get that you get your jollies from killing lowbies cause you simply get your fudge packed by anyone your level. But, nothing comes without their consequences, it's a good life lesson that kids need to learn.

I see some penalties more as a reward, it also adds to excitement. Like if the pker drop gear, it's a reward for head hunters. If you're the one pking it makes you feel like a fugitive, you run, you run for dear life when multiple people come after you, it gets really exciting, your heart race you giggle in joy and disbelief when you survive somehow. I know I've been there several times.

It's nothing to do with restriction, it makes you THINK before you act.

I totally agree with you here, could not have said it better.

Also agree.

For one thing, Outlaws should be attacked by lawful NPCs until their flag wears off.

Oh, i dunno, i had real fun with PKs arround in the area =) when i was in party with my guild we obliterated 3 parties of PK, and yesterday when i was going solo, they tried to kill me 6 times. They killed me once because i was outnumbered, i ran away in other ocation and in the other 4 times when i had 1 on 1 i just killed them :P im amazed at how good archer is on pvp, i was having a blast kicking their [filtered] XD, im totally going to be a PKK when i get high lvl.

At level 12, level 20+ players were 1-shotting me.

I didn't mind. I knew it was beta. I would've done the same.

However, this would certainly piss players off during the official release. There needs to be sanctions in place to prevent this.

Yeah, that's another thing I liked about L2, they had Guards protecting people in lowbie areas. So if a PKer were to run by a guard they'll get killed in seconds.

Letting douchebags get away with camping low level towns is annoying, it impedes other peoples progress overall, especially if they stick around for hours. Some of us have work and/or social obligations.

Very few people will actually go out of their way to come chase away a griefer, there's no rewards. So generally the lowbie is left sifting through channels hoping there isn't a high level pker camping outside of town.

It becomes outright frustrating if you have to sit around begging some random high level to come chase the pker away.

I'm all about spontaneous obligatory fighting, but getting one shot is not what I call a fight. I've already experienced having someone my level try to pk me, and fighting back and chasing them away was rather exciting and welcome more of it.

Penalty is dumb, what I want to see is reward for killing these griefers and see the Outlaw status last for 60minutes not 1minute, it's stupid when you're forced to engage in PVP defending yourself against those with intent on griefing just to have them run when they're losing until their statues wears.

Also these safe zone areas are stupid because griefers hump them, it's nice for Federation people but it shouldn't be a safe zone for Outlaws too. They should be removed entirely on PVP servers.

Add: when I say safe zones I mean the little outposts around the maps.

Wasn't there a thread somewhere about a penalty being applied for attacking lower level players here before CBT started?

Tbh I think that there should be no timer on the outlaw system. I believe that while you have infamy, you should stay red until you have grinded that infamy off.

Also I personally hated seeing red people running around town using NPC's. I feel that when someone makes the decision to become an outlaw, they forfeit certain rights. They should be respawning at a safe zone outside of town and should not be allowed back in (guards) until they have "repented of their sins", eg grinded that red off.

Finally, I do not agree with having penalties, eg debuffs, for PK'ing. I think that if a person decides to play that way, then they should be allowed to. However I do believe that there should be some kind of reward for killing a pk'er. Maybe something like them having a chance to drop their crystals or glyphs (equiped or non-equiped) rather than them getting destroyed. These can then be used or sold for a gold ammount. They become quite valuable later in the game so it may be a good counter to the issue.

You've pretty much reiterated what I've been saying. With some minor changes of course, and instead of calling it a "penalty", you refer to it as a "reward."

as said before no point of penalty, kills opvp. Its a pvp server for a reason, the only thing i'd add are guards in safe areas but other than that no change really needs to be made at all imo. Its fine as is and fun as hell.
