You know I've pvp'ed for a very long time in a lot of games.

I'm not sure why there can't be a level attack restrictions such as EQ2 where you can only attack 4 levels above or 4 levels below or such and everyone is outlaw all the time.

People are coming on here saying griefing is part of PvP lol. Where do you get off saying that? I'm pretty certain we all play games to have fun and kill time correct? Is it fun for anyone when you have a person 10+ higher levels than you just camping the leveling area because well...it strokes his ego to do so?

To me the most that say it's "ok" are the ones most likely doing it. I have no problem with open PvP where a person a few levels ahead of me tries to gank me while I'm killing a quest mob or doing an escort. I have a problem with a person attempting to gank me that knows he can 1-2 shot me and is just doing it because it makes him feel better about himself.

Point is we're here to have fun...challenge ourselves...and to ultimately waste time. How does ganking someone who you know is going to only take 1-2 hits do any of those? If you say doing it is fun...you have other issues lol..mentally.

Of course we know these are the same people who kick puppies because they get picked on in school all the time, right? The whole, I'll just pick on something smaller than me to feel better.

Well, on the pvp server people were griefing hardcore on the last day, so I got curious and someone told me there's no penalty for PKing, but that outlaw skill description says there is a penalty for PKing... am I missing something here? Is it not working? If there is no penalty that'll be very odd, every other mmo that has pking (not many that I can even think of) has a penalty of sorts to only let the truly hardcore (or complete d.ouche) to take the risk of PKing.

Anyway, can anyone clarify with details? Thanks in Advance.

there should be a damn reward for pking. this is a pvp server for crying out loud. stop being a freaking noob

It's ok child, I know you wanna have your kicks, but now that it's confirmed you won't have em without risks. Just get ready to run away a lot. :3

Whatever they do, I sincerely hope they keep the Outlaw skill buff. I can't imagine swinging my cyclone ax trying to solo grind without nicking people by accident. This is not a tab-targeting game. It would be such a mess if you could insta-hit anyone all the time. I would be getting nicked by zerkers and sorcs all the time. Especially in high volume areas. This would just be a terrible idea. Also, I like knowing who used Outlaw to pk someone, so I can go after them. It is a lot of fun. I loved the PvP server, and I love it just the way it is. If you griefers want to QQ about anyone being able to come after you after you do your outlaw buff, then pk in groups. Don't be such carebears about it. Man up, and don't whine when the "blue" team kills you for picking off lowbies. The system is near perfect right now. A debuff would be great, as it would just take that much more skill to pk people. It should be a difficult decision that takes a lot of strategy. Just like it is hard for lowbies to make it across the bridge in lumbertown. It should be just as hard to kill them, knowing their capped friends or guildies are lurking around the area.

Edit: What would be perfect is if the debuff would correlate directly with the difference in levels of the person who went outlaw and killed someone. Like if an outlaw killed a fellow lvl 27, then there would be very little to no debuff. But if an outlaw took out a lvl 11 or 12, then the debuff would be that much harsher. I hope the devs could take this into consideration. I think it would be the perfect way to balance things. I don't think people should be punished as much for killing others of their own level.

They have clarified.

You should browse the posts of EME employees before assuming they haven't posted anything, especially if you're keen on discussing PvP matters in General Discussion.

No, don't worry, I'll grab it for you this time because you'll likely spout off some nonsense about not caring enough to find the information yourself, despite your cries for clarification.

Right now there are no repercussions for kill or killing. We want to try out PvP in the next CBT and see what people think about the system.

Personally I think there should be some risk/reward vs. having a straight gankfest but I tend to be a bit more strategic in thought. Play in the next CBT and give us your thoughts!

Oh look, the forum Po-Lease arrived. Everyone quickly apologize to Fat Wa for not having the ENME quote in their hands or knowing it existed. hurry Fat Wa, many players you need to scold for not knowing this. lol

As it is, I gave correct info; just wasn't aware of the specific post.

Thats why is ''PVP SERVER'' so you can pvp without any punishment, show to the others how good you are, and how you can rule them until someone stronger come and kill you. That the most awesome thing about TERA, pvp FTW! no punishment, no noob, no pve carebear at pvp servers, if you cant handle that fact that someone at any time can just decide to kill you, then you should play on PVE server.

The essence of combat is to strike at the vulnerabilities of one's opponent. There is no "fair" or "unfair".

The outlaw skill itself is already a huge penty. Everyone can jump you even not flagged already. (hope they fix this make it so only person attacked can fight back unflagged everyone else has to flag to join in) Also if you die while flagged you loss crystal where if your just pked by some one and not flagged you don't loss any.

game would be broken. Guilds/friends could not protect their lowbies. Just stop QQing about everyone able to kill you if you go outlaw. Roll on a PvE server if you can't handle being vulnerable after player killing. PK in groups. Stop whining about other people fighting you. Be more careful when you pk. This is the argument for people who QQ about griefers. It applies here as well. Make sure you are in a group if you are going to pk people.

Deal with the fact that if you go outlaw, anyone can attack you. Start pking in low traffic areas. Just adapt, and deal with the situation. The system is damn near perfect as is.

Idk how stating a possible issue counts as QQing but ok....
