It's worth the $25 I paid on Amazon but I'm in the mindset of this will be an mmo single player for me. Once I get my priest to 60 and get all of the easiest gear, I'll prolly unsubscribe until more solo content is released.
You may ask why would I want to play solo. Well the reason is group dynamics in the current state don't appeal to me, I want my priest to be a damage dealer only and that does not work in group settings in Tera. And even if I was allowed to be damage dealer for raids or crawls I'm sure it wouldn't be optimal since priests have low damage to begin with.
I was about ready to pull the trigger while the Amazon sale was on but was able to restrain myself. Ive been going over reviews and gameplay footage trying to decide if I wanted to play it or not. Reviews on websites are quite subjective and it is rare I will agree totally with a review. I take every review with a grain of salt.
Ive been burned on some MMO purchases over the past two years and am very wary now. A couple of examples would be SWTOR and Star Trek Online (felt like a buffoon after buying those two).
I would like to give this game a shot but with no trial I have zero confidence in buying MMO games these days.
Please make a trial available whenever possible. It would open many more potential eyes to the game and that would probably be a great thing...unless theres something to hide? :P

For the record, dont mind the Harsh replies. They're mostly trolls that want this game to fail
because it doesnt suit them or they're just bored. The reason for it, is that Just like how you
simply made an account with out sub. They can to, another reason to ignore then is that
ALL THE GOOD ONES THAT LIKE THE GAME ARE ither in game and never bother
with the Forums or are in their Server forums.
So I'll give you a Heads up on how it is in the inside.
1) Gameplay: Combat is Realtime, no Plant your charactor there and spam hotkeys
like theres no tommorrow. YOU DO HAVE TO MOVE most of the time to advoid damage.
Other times, (Pending on class) you just can simply block or dodge them.
2) Questing: Kind of a standard thing, there is two types in it. One is Red Exclamation/QUestion
mark. This means Mainstory quest chain. Undroppable but worth it at the end.
yellow Exliamation/QUestion mark means Zone Quests. These are the ones that kind of
send you out for that exp that will help you ding. Mostly fetchers and kill this
Aside from that its got some plainess in it or standard, without going accross the content
to complete it.
3) Instances: These are pretty much 5 man, 1 Healer, 2 dps, 1 tank and one Dps or support
type class. Boss fights are abit rough because some will stay still and others will seriously
use the entire room to move around. You get a solo boss at level 11-12 near the end of
the Main Quest chain.
Trash mobs are standard but they move around, at times they come in LARGE PACKs so
so your chat log is pretty much spammed with Exp gains. (my favorite kind of spam)
4) BAMS = (Big @$$ Monsters), these babies can be soloable with the right skill and
witts. Just to warn you ahead of time, the BAMtypes tend to be Rehashed with +1/+2
more abilities as you go up the levels.
5) Armor and styles: Since the game is abit new you do get to see some
nice styling also pended on your class. YOU can Dye their color and keep it for
at least 1 day or 7 days. There arent Much stats to worry about, so You'll know
which one is an upgrade or not by the green +## on it. Also its itemized
to be used with specific classes Max. Plate <2> Leather <2>
cloth <3>
6) Buffs, when you level you can get buffs by just gathering mining nodes, Plants and
crystals. each buff will give you + to stam/mp/hp/mp or hp regen/gathering level/ and
faster run speed. These are optional but wouldnt mind it to help level.
7) Stamina/charm system: This is kind of a limiter to how long your charactor can be out
and about. 120% max without the extra gathering buffs. This also gives you an extra
points to your HP and MP. Charms are also a nice 15m Buff to give you that Umph you
feel you need.
8) Crafting: This one on my end is more like a time waster when you just wanna hang out
and do nothing for about a day or so. Its not really hard its more like a joke to most. =p
But you Can craft armor/weapons/pots/scrolls should feel like it. Alchmey is rather needed
for those 'Oh Crap' moments for Pots.
9) Guilds: Pretty much standard like every other MMO that has a whole bunch to
some minum people in it. Some will help some will be lazy some will be trolls like the
ones here on the forums.
10) End game(s) AT the moment none, mostly due to the wait to be enough level 60s
in each server to handle the following.
World Raid: Nexus- This is gonna be huge from what I've been told. It was so grand of
an event that it had crashed some servers pretty bad.
What it is: Its pretty much mass ally with Guilds to bring down world Beasty Boss
with loot at the end.
Raiding: There is some but atm, I've been to lazy to look it up. I'm sorry =\
11) Leveling Pace/rate: This is pretty much different between person to person.
Some will level like crazy and compalin that its to fast, others say too slow or too easy
or too hard. <derp> So its depended on your MMO experince and how you want to go about
leveling.
12) Rep: This is a standard from what I'm told AT THE LEVEL CAP OF 60. For
Pre-Hard Mode instances which are NOT A JOKE. So much drama in some pugs,
check the previous Subjects below page 2. Yoi people to day =p
Ok now the last one
13) Is it worth my cash:
This is seriously up to you, and your play style. if you want a FPS like with
combat that lets you stay in one place and have alot of down time, Or
you can move about and learn every mobs moves and Nail them down hard.
It gets to be addictive at times.
Graphics are Awsome; if you have an inte processor. <standard> aside from it. You can see sharp the textures are at.
Mounts are given for free at level 11 so you can move around abit more quicker, No cast
time ither which is nice. If you dont mind Fantasy medevil like times of gaming. Then
feel free to try it out. 30 days for free after purchase. BUt if you want a game with a
time trail. Your kind of out of luck, this game is still brandnew and fresh out of the
dev team's hands. so you may have to wait abit of a while.
Sorry for the long post but I want you the OP to have a better idea of what you

it's actually far, far worse in game. You'll want to turn off area & lfg chat channels immediately upon entering the game. No sarcasm, I'm being completely serious about it.
Every MMO suffers from this same fate, let's be frank about it. Tera is NO different my friend.
No, that's not correct. I'm sitting in a game right now where I can leave area and lfg on. In fact, I've never been forced to turn them -off- in a game previous to this. This community is about as despicable as any that one could possibly fathom in the channels.
And, like most so-called 'trolls', once they're out of their little group of sycophants, they become entirely different people and you often get nary a peep out of them.
The game -could- be cleaned up if people started to get banned for cruel things pretty quickly -- chief among them being the 'no one cares' people. Seriously. These pieces of detritus don't deserve to be able to post a Post-It note, let alone speak in a channel. I just hope that they get their fun while it lasts, because the government response to this rising epidemic, when it comes, will be -legendary-. It'll be a while yet...but make no mistake, when your free speech (which is highly overrated to begin with) collides with business interests, you lose every time.
Have you played the last 3 or 4 big MMOs released at around launch? The community is ALWAYS the same at this time. For the past year or two I haven't seen a single thing different, aside from the games coming out in the future that they compare it to and the failures from the past people compare it to.
Just like every other p2p MMO to come out in the last 2 years, give it 1-2 months and a vast majority of the idiots will have cleared out.
On topic... OP not really exactly sure why you made this thread. One person asking for a free trial on a newly launched game won't do anything. Chances are they have most of that scheduled out, just like all of the other big p2p MMOs that have been released in the recent years. Give it 3-6 months and you'll have your free trial. Only reason I ask why you made the thread, specifically the titled it like you did, is that these type of threads do nothing but attract trolls of every kind - for and against the game.
So where were you when they had CBT, OBT, and free play during head start?
This. EME has given away copius amounts of free time between CBTs, OBT, and even turning headstart -- something many people felt was supposed to be a preorder only bonus -- into yet another trial for the public.
Thanks Segar, that post was great! I had read quite extensively about Tera but knew nothing about the stamina mechanic and the crafting. Most of what I have watched or read was combat, movement and questing. Ive also watched some live streams on twitch but most of them were dungeons and BAM fights.

As for the forum here or ANY other games forum, the trolls and whiners will do most of the posting as most of the other normal people are actually playing the game and having fun. My earlier comment that went something like "I hope this isn't indicative of the playerbase in this game" should have been worded differently or just not said at all. A quick look at 4 of the biggest MMO forums shows a lot of rude/troll/childish posts that pretty much drown everything else out.
