I kinda wish that the MMO market could finally unshackle itself from the pvp market. It was pvp that almost broke Wow in the first place.

In FFXI it was handled as a mini game....which is exactly where it should have stayed.

Really? Cause I think it's the carebear-ness of mmo's that are destroying the genre.

Then you might be playing in the wrong genre.

************************************************************************
Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of role-playing video games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual game world.

As in all RPGs, players assume the role of a character (often in a fantasy world) and take control over many of that character's actions. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player RPGs by the number of players, and by the game's persistent world (usually hosted by the game's publisher), which continues to exist and evolve while the player is offline and away from the game.

Yea but PvP is what makes it fun and worth playing. And for the most part it's how they started.

While I feel the loyalty towards TERA, TERA is "old" while Diablo 3 and GW2 are fresh/brand new. Not to mention TERA being an "Asian" game are usually frowned upon by some of the Western population before even trying the game, not to mention outside the TERA circle of fans others do not share the same interest in TERA.

Tera's a great game, but beyond the shiny lusty graphics and semi-innovative combat system Tera has little to claim. Plus the fact that En Masse hasn't brought out any major press releases or material for press. (The MMOFu thingy was lame tbh)

On the other hand screw them, I'm personally fine with our community atm not to mention with all the queues I don't really want more players. ;x They're missing out, not me.

Tera is old? This game was just released today!

I've played every mmo under the sun and even the free to plays and Tera is nothing and I mean nothing like any other mmo out there. So they give you collects that kill this quests...so does Borderlands that doesn't mean it's old it just mean it has mmo gameplay.

Anyone that's compalining about the combat system needs to get off the keyboard and buy a controller.

Graphic dont make the game fun it the combat that does that but it rare to have both graphic and good combat in same game because cost alot money art design and the programmer to make the combat work well

No. Art style/direction are HUGE factors in player enjoyment. There are certain games that I LOVE because of the art, despite the fact as a game it's not that great (Alice: Madness Returns for example). There are other games that are spectacular, but because of the art style used, I can't get into it at all.

You don't need to have high quality graphical fidelity to have a good looking game. Look at Trine. It doesn't have super high fidelity graphics, but the art in the game is amazing and they've found a way to make DECENT graphics look great.

You totally missed my point.

Point-----

Your head------

ART STYLE DOES have an effect on how fun the game is. It's NOT all the gameplay mechanics and combat.

Art style and graphical fidelity are two different things.

Honestly,

I read about this game in Gameinformer MONTHS ago, and it was being compared to WoW / SWTOR / and some other tank game that is launching soon.

Then I heard nothing, I had literally forgotten about it until I was browsing youtube the other day and saw a private CBT video for it.

Lol, same, expect I saw it online (and ad or something, I was looking for any new/upcoming MMOs) I stayed on it's tail for awhile and waited to get access into beta (they didn't even really have a site up when I was following them and they said it'd be awhile - maybe months - until they allowed you to sign-up for betas). I didn't remember it until a friend was like "HAI GAIZ LOK AT DIS COL GAME I FOUND!!!" and I pre-orded to gain access to all betas :D

Why the hell would I do that? They look retarded.

I'm obviously talking about the first graphical mmo's.
