They aren't necessary, they are just random fluff, no one really "needs" them, but by god, I want them.

I don't know why, but there is something about having a small pet next to my mmo characters that just seems right. While I am out and about mining nodes, picking plants or sucking up essences, it would be wonderful to have a little friend next to me to keep me company.

I don't care if I have to buy it from a vendor, go hunting around and kill a BAM and rip its baby from its loins or sit on an egg for hours and hatch the damn thing, all I know is, I would love to have a non-combat pet.

Watching KTera streams, some people have a little "thing" following them around, like a fairy in a blue sphere, not sure if it's a non-combat pet though. I would love to see some in game, i know it's not a make or break thing, but more things is always better than less.
