Well thats nothing new ... a lot of players are bored with BETA, myself I played cbt 1-3 and I am bored with leveling character that gets wiped in month .... Also I have one more play time on Ktera and I dont play that either.

Why? BECAUSE release is one month ahead :))

so it's a developers fault that people are douchebags?

No, it is the developers' fault that they do not provide tools to manage the social part of the game any better than games did a dozen years ago. This is the dawn of social networking, and in games released in 2012 there are no more tools for players to shape their social experience than in early MUD systems. I cannot build networks of friends outside of the blunt instrument of guilds, or provide positive feedback to folks who aid me or improve my experience by simply being polite and friendly. I cannot provide negative feedback on folks who are greedy, self-absorbed, sociopathic or who behave in ways counter to the experience I wish to have. I cannot excise abusive or harassing players from my game experience. Claims against negative behavior must be processed through some customer service group rather than empowering players to make their own decisions on what they deem acceptable behavior and what consequences opposing those standards should incur. Douchebaggery continues to have no consequences, which is ridiculous in multiplayer gaming systems given the copious examples of these principles elsewhere in the online space.

I agree with Destian, The game does show that with a larger group of people = A lot more fun to do things with, Gives you a chance to be social, get to know people, and all around you have a better mind set on the game and can do more stuff. Soloing BAM.. yes possible but Dear lord the time wasted if you just grouped up and cut the time to a fraction and with more fun. Though i will admit it is fun to soloing them maybe once or so first or even world bosses just say say, Hey i soloed that thing

This.

I think it's better soloing with melee classes because there's a lot more dodging/blocking involved.

Ranged classes are just kite, kite, kite, kite, kite, kite, kite, kite, kite, kite, kite...

Have to agree with this, for MMO's in general.

This beta felt particularly bad. The last one was probably my favourite, and I'm wondering if it wasn't a coincidence that there wasn't a new instance in it. You got out, went hunting through the jungles or the labyrinth, had a go at the world bosses... I had lots of fun. Couldn't wait until the fourth beta.

This time... it was pretty much characterized by a rush to lvl36, and then an endless cycle of running CR, followed by a 20-30 minute afk. Didn't help that there's pretty much only one boss in the entire instance that drops anything worth having, so we're basically rolling the dice once an hour. Not saying I'm rethinking my purchase, but this definitely put a damper on any pre-subbing intentions. Really hoping for better during the fifth.

You are missing the point by a narrow margin. I don't know if you have played XI or not, if you have you know what i mean. Else to long to explain. Your ideology would not fly as i know many people who seem like the biggest DB's in the world, but are actually very well balanced people. While some of the nice people i know, are the biggest drama queens/a.hole's you have ever seen.

What i want is a game, which is not a rat race to the top, then a rat race to the cheese. A game where if i stay the same level i can still be a part of the community, and be fun if you do race to the end. A game where you does not need a rare-legendary-epic +100 to have fun, yet you can still obtain it if you want. A game where you invite a person because you like their humor, not because of armor they use, or maybe inviting armored people is what you want. A game where you don't need to accomplish something every session to feel good about logging in, yet you can accomplish as much as you like.. Pretty much a game where it makes no difference if you play slow, medium, fact, neck brake speed you ca still have fun. And still be a part of the community.

What games are today is rush 1 to cap, rush to armor up to max, rush to hit all content once.... quit in 2 months.

Yea...I don't play betas anymore. I'll burn myself out through the whole quest grind XD.

Take a break, comeback at launch or early access. if you REALLY want to play the beta, don't play to have fun, but play to find bugs to report.

I don't find myself getting burned out of the game. I've leveled the same class twice in 2 difference servers and i'm not one bit of bored. It may just be me though. I play'd all weekend, many, many hours. I find it sad when it tells me ' You have been playing for 16 hours. ' But i'm having fun so alls good (:

I can assure you the scores of players 'not' lining up to play the beta are doing so for an entirely different reason.

The game is RNG personified. Everyone hated Aion. Everyone will hate this for exactly the same reasons. EME is just another publisher trying to skim off the top. Frogster is no better. The combat is fun but not spectacular. There is very limited reason to associate with players outside a regular group or guild making the game far less massive than the genre implies it should be.

Unnecessary censorship, a willingness to completely amputate systems rather than develop them, and the ever looming shadow of RNG will ensure the quick and muffled whimper will go largely unnoticed as Tera is unleashed upon the Western gaming market.

I am sure a good chunk of people will pick up Tera. Probably fewer than Aion but it will likely be a respectable number. At first. Then once people reach max level in a weeks or two they will get the first look at the epic nothing that awaits their continued play experience. They will see no notable progression targets in PvE content and they will see a constant need to farm coin and items in order to attempt to beat RNG and fully upgrade their weapon.

Once they get their first weapon it will dawn on them that all the have to look forward to is another massive grind to getting that chest piece enchanted... and so on. PvP will be dominated by those that hit max first and get lucky enough to fully enchant their gear. People will realize that the whole 'Tera is uber skill based' thing is a sham and the epic grind in a sea of RNG is all that Tera can ever be.

During that time massive waves of complaints and poor feedback will be largely ignored as the update and patch process is not only dependent on a 3rd party (since EME is a publisher not the studio), but the schedule of the developer is also dependent on the development requests of 3 other markets... Basically it will become clear the people collecting the information can't do anything with it and any proposed change would take 6 months or more to implement.

Tera has absolutely nothing going for it. And EME was the wrong choice for NA distribution. Frogster might pull off a few stable servers but EME will drop the ball in the first 6 months and pass the buck to a F2p service.

I want to say EME Tera will go the way of Aion. It feels very much like Aion 2.0 But now I honestly believe that Tera will not go the way of Aion. I think its gonna go the way of Final Fantasy 14, or maybe even Tabula Rasa.

lol, you got some good points here. Although, personally, I wouldn't be so dramatic about it.

The RNG enchanting system needs to go. It's pretty much the same enchanting system all Asian-MMO's have, including our oh so favorite F2P games! Not that fun or exciting. I know the Tera devs can do better with the system, come on now. Working for our enchant levels would be much more fun than rolling some dice. But hey, that's just me.

I agree Tera is missing... something. I don't know what. Not enough immersion? Too easy? Bland PvE? A meh story? Music ain't that great or memorable? Not enough things to do other than the combat?

The combat cannot and will not hold the game above water alone.

I'll be holding my breath though and hoping the devs can put out some good AND refined content and most importantly, FUN CONTENT.

watching a new movie that is actually just another worthless remake, maybe its time you two had a go at working things out. That's all I'm saying.

What did you just say? e.o Oh no you didn't.
