I can assure you the scores of players 'not' lining up to play the beta are doing so for an entirely different reason.

The game is RNG personified. Everyone hated Aion. Everyone will hate this for exactly the same reasons. EME is just another publisher trying to skim off the top. Frogster is no better. The combat is fun but not spectacular. There is very limited reason to associate with players outside a regular group or guild making the game far less massive than the genre implies it should be.

Unnecessary censorship, a willingness to completely amputate systems rather than develop them, and the ever looming shadow of RNG will ensure the quick and muffled whimper will go largely unnoticed as Tera is unleashed upon the Western gaming market.

I am sure a good chunk of people will pick up Tera. Probably fewer than Aion but it will likely be a respectable number. At first. Then once people reach max level in a weeks or two they will get the first look at the epic nothing that awaits their continued play experience. They will see no notable progression targets in PvE content and they will see a constant need to farm coin and items in order to attempt to beat RNG and fully upgrade their weapon.

Once they get their first weapon it will dawn on them that all the have to look forward to is another massive grind to getting that chest piece enchanted... and so on. PvP will be dominated by those that hit max first and get lucky enough to fully enchant their gear. People will realize that the whole 'Tera is uber skill based' thing is a sham and the epic grind in a sea of RNG is all that Tera can ever be.

During that time massive waves of complaints and poor feedback will be largely ignored as the update and patch process is not only dependent on a 3rd party (since EME is a publisher not the studio), but the schedule of the developer is also dependent on the development requests of 3 other markets... Basically it will become clear the people collecting the information can't do anything with it and any proposed change would take 6 months or more to implement.

Tera has absolutely nothing going for it. And EME was the wrong choice for NA distribution. Frogster might pull off a few stable servers but EME will drop the ball in the first 6 months and pass the buck to a F2p service.

I want to say EME Tera will go the way of Aion. It feels very much like Aion 2.0 But now I honestly believe that Tera will not go the way of Aion. I think its gonna go the way of Final Fantasy 14, or maybe even Tabula Rasa.

EME Listen to this guy. I think many of us feel the same way, one way or another.

RNG is terrble, and if we wanted that we would have stuck with Aion.

I personally enjoyed every last beta but it is understandable why there is a lot of whining going on. To say that people in general as a whole are artificial would be a compliment.
The Beta serves many reasons as stated in this thread but if the game caught your interest it serves more than just "building a better game" it is also to be accustomed to the mechanics and events that you will see and be a part of when the game goes live. For those who are competitive they understand this that having the edge over the other can make or break anything. The beta serves as that edge especially when the full content comes out.

There are two continents, not one. You have seen one. Politics are not available nor are battlegrounds, world events. A beta is only meant to be a taste, there is much more to do and see. What I have been reading is "They will be destroyed, who cares" and "We already played through 2/3 of the content". Anybody who can take 5 minutes out to do research or even stop to think about why will quickly figure out both are false.

People thinking about anything else then what is in front of them is already an impossible task especially in America where ADHD runs rampant and the average person is dumber then a 5th grader from china.

I'm just saying that there is more that we don't have access too, and coming on here crying about it when all it takes is 3 clicks on the game guide on the same bar as the fourms explains some features that are yet to be playable and how they may influence the world that is as some people say "generic". The community has always been degrading that goes for most games. It's easy to hide behind the screen when you are not at risk to any consequences. It sucks, but just ignore them.

It sucks that you got bored of Tera, but maybe it isn't the game for you. I hope you find one that will make you happy and I'm positive it's out there! Input is always valuable and even though it's presented in terrible ways sometimes you'll help to make the game better and if you ever decide to come back there may be improvements that you help made!
Good luck OP.

Also on the topic of Enchanting and RNG, It is not really random it is you get what you give.
Using 68 greens to enchant a gold won't go so well.
I played around with enchanting this game and it really isn't bad at all.
Use greens to get it going, then blues past 4, then gold past 6. I failed maybe once and it didn't even degrade. Being a cheap [filtered] (I know half of you are.) buying 100' greens and using the lowest grades will result in a [filtered] ton of fails (I tired this too)

I love this guy, better comedy than just for laughs. I lose no sleep no matter the past, present and future of TERA. The game's path is intertwined with the path of AION, and no matter what, the end result is inevitable. I have no rage, i paid for a pre-order i felt how cold and soulless the game felt and canceled. It's an easy concept really a game either has a heart or it doesn't. And i didn't feel a pulse, meaning there isn't one or there is one but it's barely beating.

If you're gonna troll don't go so hard at it. You've got to at least stay within the realm of reason to get a decent reaction.

And so you come here day in, day out, wasting your life, trolling forums. Making things up. Complaining how "grindy" Tera is, and compare it to Aion. Then repeatedly praise FFXI which was mechanically a terrible game, built entirely upon RNG mechanics, who's only defining feature was the fact that the game was so beloved. And people wasted their lives playing it.

I've seen grind, I've played EQ, i've even played FFXI. Since you seem to love FFXI so much, how far did you get? Have you ever defeated Absolute Virtue when it was actually a challenge? Have you ever had to farm Damascus Cloth, have you ever obtained a Relic weapon, Because i've done all of those things. Grinding in FFXI was worse grind than Aion. The grind in Tera, is less than what I experienced playing WoW for seven years, and doing end game content at all stages of the game.

In short, you're not only a liar, and a troll. You're a bad one at that. And it's hilarious to see that after canceling your preorder, you have nothing else to do in your life but to come here. And make everyone know how miserable you are.

It's sad.

Do you know that you are the fanboi of a "publisher". How does that make you feel?

This game make me feel like I need to poop, and it doesn't feel like a nice easy one either. It feels like its gonna be too big at first, then its gonna get chunky life stew, then its gonna explode with that burning magma stuff that happens when you drink too much beer.

And as funny as this troll would be (if it were a troll), these are the hard facts:

RNG = HATE
Censorship = HATE
EME is just the little kid playpen where NCSoft sent the failures who screwed up Aion. EME is just a feedback middleman preventing developers from getting real information that isn't trimmed proper and what EME (again same people who ruined Aion's Westernization) thinks is relevant and in the best interests of their pocket books. And guess what kids, Publishers don't care about money 5 or 6 years from now. They want as much money on release as possible. Nothing else matters. They will say and do anything to convince people to buy the box (or better yet the digital download scam). Upon release they will gut the overhead and skeleton crew the game. That is how publishers make money. Period. There is no long term goal. Cash grab and go. That is the universal Publishing business model for ALL markets not just gaming.

This game is going to choke on its own fecal remnants and die. The choice now is whether to pay EME and fall for the con or to let them explode under the weight of their own greed.

If Blue Hole was collecting the money directly I would send them 50 bucks regardless. But since EME is a publisher (not the developer) that has done nothing useful or innovative AND is completely ripping off the developer and the possible western market, I see no reason to send them money. Blue Hole will never see any of it so you aren't supporting anyone in the industry.

All you are doing by buying this "cash grab scam release" is supporting a publisher that doesn't give a flying [filtered] on a rolling donut about you or your play experience. All they want is you to be sheep and pay them their money so they can close up shop and move on to the next cash grab scam.

Tera is less like Aion than you seem to think...

-Focus on BoP gear to discourage RMT

-Chronoscrolls to discourage RMT

-Removal of personal shops to discourage RMT and centralize the market

-Listening to NA players on a number of issues

-Game is the OPPOSITE of a hideous grind (like Aion was): you level too damn fast.

-Unless there's an endgame mechanic like the HHoM in Aion, no, it won't be as bad as that.

-You can ensure your enchants will happen with special powders you can buy (that don't cost THAT much).

Nothing will be as RNG filled as Aion was. CASINOS are have less RNG than Aion did, heh...

Thaid, all I ever see you post on these forums is how much you hate what EME has done. If the game makes you feel like you "need to poop", why do you still post here on the forums so much? I'm genuinely curious, and no offense is meant.

I'm really hoping for more on the next BETA. I hope EN MASSE can show me why I should stick with them an not move on.

If you, your self can not see a reason to stay. It's pointless to hope that the dev's will show you a reason to do so. Using me as an example: i saw a reason to stay in ffxi, for 8 years, with out even glancing at other MMO's for that time frame. When the reason was no longer there i left... sadly in the last 3 years i have had a hard time seeing a reason to stay in an MMO for longer then 6months. I don't get bored of it, far from it.. just that the train of interests branches out, as soon as i start logging in just because i payed for the time i know it's time to go..

A little bit offtopic. FFXI strength was it's community and I think it gave that game a lifespan that other MMOs really don't have despite having lackluster systems in place. To this date, FFXI is the only MMO I have really fond memories of.

Back on topic, someone was comparing TERA to FFXIV in the first page and I'd just have to laugh at this. Nothing compares to FFXIV on release. Not even Aion. After playing both TERA and FFXIV, TERA is miles and beyond what the trainwreck FFXIV was. I think majority of MMO players are jaded and rightly so, hence the really negative default stance people take with TERA. I say if you've really gave TERA a try and found it not your cup of tea, then I hope you do find something to play that suits your interests. For me, I haven't had this much fun in a MMO since FFXI. The core systems in TERA is solid and it's something that EME can build off of. Time will only tell if EME does it right.

Any MMO is fueled by it's community. TERA is something new, but it will eventually get old. What makes people stay is the community. Your little group of friends, guilds, servers, forums.. Whatever floats your boat. That being said, MMO communities are different from eachother. Sure, at first they're flooded by everyone cause everyone is testing the game. But eventually it'll form a personality of it's own. I'm looking forward to the true TERA community before deciding if this is truly the game for me.. cause right now, it's just "TERA is terrible" "TERA is awesome" "TERA needs to be better" "TERA needs time" groups flaming eachother.

And yes, lol, even FF14 has a community personality now :P and some people love it (I know, crazy).
