Currently I'm running an Nvidia GTX 9800 (super old) and the game runs almost decent. However, during heavily populated areas or vast views of landscape, the game can become very low FPS.

Does anyone run an Nvidia GTX 550 Ti? If so, how do you like the performance? This is a very affordable card (about $120) and I wanted to get one just for Tera, but I wanted to hear everyone's experiences with it first.

I would suggest spending the extra 60 bucks and purchase the GT 560. More bang for your buck.

Not quite... the price doubles:

Most people I've heard from said to either get GT 560 Ti, or Radeon HD :edit: series (I always forget which x,000 series is the most up to date, but w/e)

Over all, when I checked ibuypower they only had 560 Ti a little bit more, rather than double, so odd to see it so much more on newegg.

Wait 2 weeks before you buy anything. The next generation of GeForce cards is due out very soon, then the price on everything old should drop dramatically.

The 560ti should drop down to about $150.

Since nobody actually answered you, I have it. I run perfectly with everything on high.

if your gonna spend your hard earned money, at least make sure you are getting something that will run newer games fine a couple years

I do believe the 7750 is a deal better than a 550ti.

and about the same price.

You may want to make sure that your power supply is powerful enough to supply that graphics card and has spare connections. Should be okay if it's around the 430w or greater, which you probably have as I think the GTX 9800 needed about the same from memory. Better to be sure than have system crashes :)

I run x2 GTX 560's (non Ti) and I can run everything at max in TERA @ 1920x1080.

Spend the extra cash and at least get the 560 or the 560Ti.

You could even wait till April and get one of the new Kepler cards comin out :) :)
