OBT - Character Creation Cap The Real Problem.

I believe combining a level cap with only one character creation slot will create the perfect storm for griefing. Bored lvl 32s, who can't make alts, will make potential customers gaming experience a living hell. If open beta is a chance to expose them to the game, this is a bad way to do so.

Give us 2 -3 character slots for OBT. That way we could level a few different characters to 32 and have them ready for launch. It will allow players to experiences different play-styles without having to delete their characters or switch to another server.

They said earlier they didn't want people to see all the content before release. An extra character slot would not allow be any "more" content so if the first reason holds true, there's no reason not to allowed another character slot. Even if they only allowed pre-orders the second character slot it would probably be a nice incentive to those who have not yet pre-ordered and are on the fence.

I see... 6 PvE server on that list. +1 with the RP-PvE. If they can't handle the exrtremely easy to dodge and almost no existent away from lumbertown's bridge ganking in this game, they can use those.

And I'm sure those who would want to try out a few alts can handle pressing a few buttons to switch servers for 4 days.

In the end, the smarter customers who know griefing is going to happen in any game that allows any semblance of PvP whatsoever and is NOT the responsability of the developper or publisher to provide or not provide should be able to make their desicion based on other factors like the combat, the challenge, the graphics, etc. Some will get hooked, some will not and a lot of immature crybabies will have been repelled forever by some griefer's sword. It about the only positive thing griefers can provide us. May they slay as many softies as possible!

I agree, it isn't really "new content" it's the same content with a different playstyle. The combat system in this game is amazing, because of that I want a melee and range class to experience both aspects of combat.

Giving preorders 2 - 3 characters slots will in my opinion help curve the bored hordes of 32s from ganking lowbies. It adds content to the game, while keeping the cap low.

It's not a matter of "trying out a few alts" - it's a matter of wanting to play the characters I want to main in the guild I'm starting with my friends. I can't do that by spreading out characters on multiple servers, and it defeats the purpose of not wiping characters after OBT, keeping them into head start. I've talked with others on the roleplay forum who feel the same - there are many of us who had planned to reserve a particular name that was different from the character we wanted to play in OBT. With a one-character limit, we are forced into making a very terrible decision.

You didn't really give an argument for not giving more character slots. You don't state why only 1 slot is a good thing or why having more than 1 slot would be a negative. Your kind of just having the hardcore pvp argument when it really doesn't apply. I'm not saying don't gank lowbies, I'm not even saying it's a bad thing. I just think having extra character slots will give people something to do outside of ganking lowbies.

Obviously, pvp servers will have killing, that goes without saying. That's why we make characters there, that's why it's fun.

From a selling the game point of view. In my opinion a level 32 cap, with only 1 character slot, isn't an accurate representation of the game for potential customers. Players trying the game for the first time will experience a false pvp atmosphere with a much higher than normal level of griefing and ganking. Allowing a few more character slots is an easy way to curb this.

I believe the character cap is in place to keep free accounts from taking up too many names. Though there are plans to wipe free accounts, it will be quite a period after launch. I think at the very least, pre order accounts should have no character caps.

2 chars total rather then 1 per server seems fair to me.

I agree this is the most stupid part of all imo, should have 2 slots at least

I also agree 2 slots minimum total per account would be nice. I mean who really needs more than that for OBT/Headstart anyways?
