This is completely rediculous!
A headstart just to get from 32 - 38!? I feel really ripped off!
I could care less about the OB cap and fully expected it, as I'm sure most did but capping Head Start = total fail
EME we love ya but seriously, WTF were were you thinking coming up with this?
Posted this in the other thread but the OB cap makes sense, its not surprising at all lets face it. But only one character? Thats just odd. Allow people to try different classes without having to delete their progress.
I am very displeased by this level cap on head start, ruins value on preordering. I am very surprised EME would pull this kind of tactics, I though you guys valued players a lot more.
Have you considered there is a LOT of people that scheduled their vacations for that head start?
I’m sure ruining their vacations week to gain 6 levels will make them Super Happy.
@Oreoredayo
I'm speaking through complete anti-bias here.
I have not been ganked, I was in an organized guild with very prominent members, and I think I've probably been killed under 3 or 4 times from random ganking, total. I have everything on pre-order, and I'm one of those people who got to the cap, shouted on /u, and made people go "WTF? Already?" I'm one of those people who will stay up 20 hours to beat everyone else. I understand where you're coming from. However, I've learned to stop complaining and make use of any and every situation given to me and see things from another's perspective.
Also, yes, many players will reach cap within a day or two. However, most players will not. Just think from someone else's (casual player) point of view:
"I see a level 38 player already, my god that was fast, I'm only level 18! How can I ever beat him? Argh I'm so far behind! I should have preordered... But wait! I have 2 more days of Open beta!! I can make it to 38 too if I try!"
-2 days later-
"Phew, I made it to 38, and I learned a LOT of things along the way! This game is pretty fun, and now I feel like I can catch up to a lot of those guys who are level 38 now. It's definitely possible to catch up with these guys now, I think I'm gonna go buy the game, I may fall behind by a week but I'll be there soon!
If OBT was 58 and Head Start was 60:
"Oh my goodness, there's 2 days of Open Beta left and this person is already level 45. I'm only level 18. How will I make it?"
-2 days later-
"Oh god, I'm only level 38, but that person's already level 55! There's such a massive level difference considering it probably takes him 3 times longer to level than me. I'll never make it!"
Of course that's just a possibility. But here's how ANY head start or obt will work, for a hardcore player like you (I presume) or myself.
OBT cap 32, Head Start 38:
"Got 32 in 2 days. Now I got a full schedule to begin farming Progress Tokens like a mad dog."
-Head Start begins-
"Finally 38 released. I'm 38 within 5 hours. Let's go farm that full set of yellows."
-2 days later-
"Hells to the yea, I've got a full set of +6 yellows, let's stock up on quests/get those level 40 equips ready and +6'd"
-official release-
"Mang, I'm sitting here at level 41 already, it's been 20 minutes since official release, I've got a full set of +6 yellow 40 equips, time to go kick some [filtered] to level 60."
-Player focuses on getting level 60, and forgets about the OBT and Head Start caps, and no longer cares.
See the thing with hardcore player is, even with a cap, there is something to do. Will a level cap stop you? Are you saying that you have nothing to do with a level cap? Maybe you can reach the level cap at 38, get your yellows, and it's still April 30. Now, you're prepped up for getting to level 60 as fast as you freaking can, and you need to sleep a good and long 15 hours to prep for this. There you go! Something to do! If you're really hardcore, you'd be spending all non-work or sleep hours playing until you're 60, so why not take that time to rest?
TL;DR? My point is: No matter how much you scream and kick, you will forget about this moment in the near future and just ignore it. However, there is a chance that new players will NOT like a higher cap. That chance is far greater than you quitting just because a level cap isn't released for SIX DAYS, so yeah, think it through that way, and provide a counter-argument. Or are you saying that many hardcore players will quit just because the cap was delayed for 6 days?
They capped headstart because En Masse and your family and friends are worried about you... they don't want you to spend 20 hours in front of a computer. (´・ω・)
When will hardcore 18 hour a day players realize that most MMO's are based around the casual users, i.e the majority?
