It is like this likely because of how it was in Lineage 2 PVP. To add more 'what if' scenarios, health and level are hidden from others so that people aren't systematically targeted in PVP based on HP pool or level differences. It adds quite a bit more to PVP in this regard.

I forgot to mention it will also possibly deter gankers from whacking people with very low HP right after doing a PVE encounter. Not seeing the HP / level makes them think twice before engaging.

You know what I think is missing? Xserver LFD auto matching queue.

You can tell with npcs just by mousing over them, they should also implement this feature to work with players.

No, they really shouldn't. What's the point? Why do you need to know what level someone that's not in your party/guild is?

As mentioned, not showing level/health is a good way to help prevent people from only targeting low health/low level players. Plus it adds more fun.

You don't know if that guy is a level 20 or level 60 until you start fighting. Sounds more fun to me.

If you only want to fight people your own level, well that's what duels are for.

No. On a PVP server, level should be hidden, and health and mana should only be shown as a percentage.
