Thing is.. people will spread the world that Tera has a cash shop, though it may be vanity.

No buts and ifs in its spreading. This will in turn harm Tera in the long run. Future players will be hesitant to play Tera because of their ignorance about the vanity cash shop. They'll probably just assume Tera's vanity cash shop is just some other f2p cash shop.

You: "TerA has a P2Win cash shop"
Me: "Really what can you buy?"
You: "uhh... skins and vanity items, server transfers, race change.. etc"
Me: "Wow, real OP cash shop breh........."

I use the cash shop. Won't [filtered] lie, you cry babbys who are just too poor to buy anything from it are just butt mad jelly about the people who can. Vanity does not equal P2W and as soon as EME starts that setup up I along with many other people will bail on the game. Pay 2 Win games are [filtered].

Vanity and vanity.

Everyone needs to take their meds, or let me share mine with then.

Not that I agree with the removal, I disagree with it, but I have to point out a few things. . .

-People who are complaining about it can't be labeled as poor, that just doesnt sound right

-People are afraid of what a cash shop may introduce in the future. . . (I find this one to be silly)

-The principle of the fact that they would put a cash shop in a pay2play game. Even if other pay2play games do it, it doesn't mean they should either (I like this one)

-The second principle of complaining for the sake of complaining, if it's not the cash shop it will be about another aspect of the game. (Hell, I like to complain and make threats about canceling my sub too)

I disagree with most of these points, but they're valid nonetheless. I'm just looking at this from a company's preservative. . .I'm pretty sure EME knows that they won't lose a significant amount of subs over a vanity shop versus the amount of money they will and have been making through the cash shop.

RIIIIIIIIGHT because we all know how WoW failed when Blizzard put in their "P2W" cash shop.
And EQ2 ...not as popular as WoW but still has a strong following of loyal fans and has actually gained subs and re-ups recently (a much better game than WoW in my opinion)

Both of these games are decimated and dead now due to their "P2W cash shops"imirite?

*facepalm*

You're comparing WOW and EQ, legends, to an young up start action, Korean-mmorpg. People have little tolerance for games like these.

TERA has a shop. It'll likely keep some old-time MMO players away, and the more frugal who'd prefer a f2p with a p2w shop.

The playerbase that is likely the target audience? Either has someone who pays for it or has a job to pay for it, and won't care. Not everyone feels the need to have all the things.

The only thing keeping this "old time" mmo'er away right now is Diablo3 ..because a return to my rpg roots is fun sometimes. NOT this silly shop. The thing has nothing I would want anyhow *shrug*.

nothing personal, but I think Tera's reputation has already preceded it without the cash shop. I still like the game, but slowly giving up.

Hmm. If they want to have those shops, then I shouldn't ave to pay a sub.

*flails* I didn't mean to insinuate anything. Some of the "original" MMO players have been using that excuse. I meant the people with the same mentality.

I think you missed the point.
Vanity item cash shops has never been an issue with the American audience, in any MMO.
