Hi, I just wanted to make a poll for enchanting to see how the community thinks about how enchanting.
The current system has it so, no matter what, you never lose an enchant. While this seems nice and fair at the beginning, very soon after release enchanting will mean nothing.. at all, because everyone will have the same enchant etc. With so many items not BOP and the abundance of weapon and armor drops I think it would be perfectly okay to change it back to how it was on the Korean servers. There it was an achievement to actually get +6 and beyond, and it still happened frequently, not 30 enchantment success spams in a given hour (probably more.)

Previously the system allowed you to fail, which was exactly how it is now. There was also a "critical fail" which then lost you an enchant, so failing was not 100% chance to lose the enchant.
Also note, many fails people have is due to them not understanding how enchanting works.

Personal feelings aside let's try to leave this to simple poll and see how everyone thinks!

Just say +1 if you want enchanting to return to how it was
Or say -1 if you wish the system to stay how it is now.

Do you plan to actually add a poll or are you going to tally by hand? Note that there are many many people who will be unaccounted for by this fact alone, as they won't even bother posting.

hmm.. neither? i LIKE them not deleveling, it passes just a bit over the fun <----> pisses me off line. that being said, the rest (white for 0-3, green for 4-6 ect) and not being able to lock in stats i prefer the old way. I'd prefer if nothing else whites to have an abysmal chance at +6 scaling to golds having a decent chance and so on (higher the color the higher the chance). i didnt even notice that in the current build :-/

basically you dont -lose- anything but money, but you have a harder time gaining things

I have failed to enchant my gloves to +4 more than ten times. I have a life and I am not willing to have a second job which is VIRTUAL and doesn't pay me.

Enmasse has decided on this change, and this poll will do nothing to change it. It's a huge part of 'westernization.' That and TERA would lose half it's playerbase when they got something to +10 or +11 then had it knocked down to 0 due to randomness that they could not affect.

+1 probably wouldnt take a few months with how easy it is to get gear and enchant people were max geared in the beta on the 3rd day

you can effect it. use a better dust. atm we dont have access to them (specialty merchant only). also in CB i only lose 1 level, was it possible to lose all of them?

also: many people (given of course it could be -more-) still play aion with its harsher version of not only the enchantment system, but the manastone system where you can lose ALL of them placing in that last stone
