You will more likely than not just skip all non-cap dungeons, it won't be much faster grinding through the story quests that unlock the quests for the dungeons that make the run worth it; when you could just chain through BAM repeatables/hub hopping.

YOU are not thinking very far down the road, when after you have implemented this system everyone just sits in Velika and waits for their Que to pop; which is exactly what WoW has become, for all aspects of the game.

Yeah, because thinking of the quality of life for other players a year from now isn't thinking down the line, get real man. And if you think that dungeon running isn't worth it while leveling up...I don't even know what to say to you. This has never been the case of any worthwhile MMO in recent history, and surely isn't the case in Tera.

So wrong you are in fact, that most Koreans that play Tera play the same way that I said I was going to that you quoted. While leveling, they go out and quest and queue up for dungeons, do the quests till it pops, and then run the dungeon, for various reasons. In fact, you get boxes for completing the dungeon which yield pink/blue alkahest.

It is only at max level that they sit around and queue for dungeons while in a city, and it sure the hell isn't Velika.

Can't wait for that LFG to hit.

I know how the system works, and it is fundamentally flawed. Rewarding players with free expensive enchanting mats but not offering the same to those who make their own group is WRONG.

There should never be a time that people "stand around in cities waiting for their Que" ever. You are only thinking about a very small subset of the player base, and you are willfully ignoring the negative elements that your LFD system will create.

You cannot both want a healthy OWPvP system as EME has expressed they want, AND have the K-tera LFD system. Much as the PvP ruleset was change for the West the LFD system will also need changed.

1. You can make your own groups and queue through the LFG and get those same rewards. It also nets you a free warp for you and your party, wherever they may be.

2. Negative elements? You mean the usual suspects? "Cause it's cross server, people are going to be dumb and stupid and ninja loot lololol" or "It destroys server communities", or any of the other 9001 retarded reasons people come up with that aren't actually caused by the LFG tool, or don't do what they say?

To demonstrate using the two examples I provided:

Cross server LFG's and ninja looters are not in any way related. Seriously, people are going to be giant douche bags regardless of time or place. Just like the internet doesn't make people more stupid, it just exposes the stupid to more people. It's the same thing again with the LFG tool. Human behavior isn't going to change any time soon, get over it. If you don't want to put up with stupidity, lock yourself in a room and play single player games. Also, don't go forgetting about the loot rules in TERA, where you can restrict it so people have to roll for stuff, and then restrict it again to class only unless that class isn't there. Yeah, ninja looters. The downfall of Tera.

As long as there is a world-type chat, there will always be server communities, regardless of LFG implementation. Server communities were fine after RIFT implemented it. The servers will be fine after it's implemented here. You think all the Koreans do in their Trade chat is talk about selling items? Keep dreaming.

There are many other examples that people use that are full of [filtered] as well, provide me with a real example as to how LFG negatively impacts gameplay(outside of PVP, I'll get to that) for a vast majority of the user base and I might change my mind. But that probably wont happen.

3. I never mentioned OWPVP, but figured that might come up. Honestly, you really can't blame the LFG for this one either. This is more on the players themselves than some tool that got implemented. If you want people to get out of the cities and continue to owpvp after a certain amount of time has passed, either implement structured owpvp environments(heresy, I know), or implement something that takes place outside of a city that you can only do outside of the city and not queue for...

....which brings me back to the edit of my last post, you should go back and read if if you haven't. Hey, out door content! I heard it also drops PVP gear. I really shouldn't have to explain the implications here, should I?

Overall people need to stop with the 'sky is falling' attitude when it concerns the LFG tool. Ultimately, it is a positive quality of life feature that benefits many games, whether people like to admit that or not.

Personally I can't wait until it goes in(and it is going in). Allows me to queue up with friends while still doing other content and quests. Why are people against this? Community? Join a freaking guild.

I like my community to be more than my guild. Why are you so against that?

I fought hard to keep it out of RIft, to no avail.

The majority want the fast paced city life with no real attachments, those of use who want to know the people around us (on our server) and want to see names and guild names we recognize are in the minority, just like city out populate a small town so too does the opinion of those masses outnumber ours. It is a losing battle. *shrug*

Congratulations? I was one of the people for it in Rift, and I'm for it here, for mostly the same reasons. Quality of Life while leveling is one of them, which is huge when you consider how much time you will be dumping into any given character. Think further down the line than just a week or month. When people have their mains geared out and are working on alts in a years time. Yeah, the LFG chat and waiting outside the dungeon is totally gunna work then.

You can totally not use the LFG tool btw. I didn't in RIFT because most of the people who were going to queue were idiots, and I was in a fairly successful guild, and I already surpassed dungeon gear when it was implemented, leaving me no reason to use it. But hey, the guys down at EME are gunna roll up to your house with a gun and make you use the tool, right?

If there was any real reasons - the usual suspects aren't reasons, as the tool doesn't cause stupidity to get worse, nor does it destroy server communities(if it did, your community was dead long before LFG) - then I might be inclined to get behind not having it. I doubt that's gunna happen though.

Soooo, you fought for it to be implemented in Rift....aaaand then you..uhm...you left? What happen? did the community die? Did the population drop?
If you are so happy with the LFD why aren't you playing Rift right now?
Are you bored with it already? It is still a baby really, I mean hell, I played EQ2 for 6 years before I got bored with it. What? did it become too easy, everything went too fast, you got all your gear too fast?

Well gee, when it was first out the community was amazing, the grouping was fun, I had a list of about 20 or so people on my friends lsit from OW grouping and multiple dungeon runs with them. Of course just after the LFD thing was implimented I gave it a month, none of those friends logged in anymore, the only people on my server I had any contact with were those in my guild, which is fine...boring not meeting anyone new *shrug*

Not for lack of trying tho, I spammed chat all the time trying to find groups or more for groups, with comments like "just queue, everyone else does" leaving no one available to build a group from with the chat.

So ..after all that fighting for your easy mode in other games you decided it was too boring and so went looking for more games so you could ..what? do the same with the new game?

The definition to insanity is doing the same thing with the same reults over and over and over again.

I like my game to last longer than 3 or so months, I like my game to not feel finished in 3 months. I don't like everyhting to be so easy to obtain that I am left looking for another game in another 3 months.

Listen, Archeage isn't going to hit these shores for at least another 2 years. I want this game to last me at least that long.
You all have several games to go play that you have managed to get these things added already. Let us have just ONE that you aren't determined to come in and ruin. Or turn into an easymode themepark lobby game.

Someone call the butthurt police man, this person is obviously upset~

On a more serious note, I left RIFT because I got bored. I played it for 7 months or so and had well over 60 days /played. I also didn't like how Trion was handling Rogue balancing. When I left my server population was just fine, my guild was progressing through HK, and I had people on my friends list that still played. If your friends quit, I doubt it was because the LFG, and it it was, they probably wouldn't have stayed much longer anyways.

But yeah, LFG is totally gunna ruin Tera, right? That's why Tera is the 3rd or 4th most populous MMO and 8th or 9th most played overall in Korea...right? Yeah, LFG is gunna kill TERA,

I started playing MMO's for the longevity, like I said, my first lasted me for 6-7 years. You are bored with Rift after 7 months? You don't see an issue there? Server status shows a lot about population, here, are you telling me the population is healthy?

http://www.riftgame.com/en/shardstatus/

Not everyone wants a game that allows them to progress at lightspeed. Not everyone wants to be bored with this game after 6 or 7 months.

People need to read there Manuals more...

"Y" Key brings up the LFG Billboard. Post your Message!!!!!

You can view how many people are in the party, what their classes are, AND the best part. You can make the LFG to be anything you WANT!!!

Dungeon, Quests, BAMS, PvP, Dancing Contest, ERP, what ever the hell floats you boat, you can make a group for in right now in game.

Hit your "Y" Key...... or check your menu bar if your using a controller....

A billboard system is way more customizable then a luck of the draw LFD system, which can only be used for dungeons.... Lame and boring...

I really like the LFG billboard as it currently stands. I would be saddened by a cross server LFG tool. I feel like it will take away from making friends within our community. Developing close friendships is important to me and I cannot see how I could ever develop a friendship with someone on another server.

I believe there is a level filter already on it, can anyone confirm?
