Are you talking about the polls in this thread?

This is what I'm seeing...

POLL 1:

Against:

Will break the game if implemented - 6%

For:

Will break the game if not implemented - 8%
Will be okay as long as it is restricted to server - 11%
Will be okay as long as it is restricted to server and... - 35%
Will play, but LFD would be nice - 21%

POLL 2:

Against:

Not be implemented - 19%

For:

Be cross-server - 41%
Be restricted to server only - 36%

Don't know where you're getting your numbers from. LFD being restricted to server only is still supporting LFD. The specification "server only" is just a matter of implementation.

You didn't read the first part of my post man. LFD is in, Chager said so and they had it in the GDC notes. I was basing my numbers off of if people specifically wanted Cross server/not cross server.

EDIT: Because sources are important:

Ah well I don't consider people wanting server only against the LFD tool. I consider people COMPLETELY against it the vocal minority.

Honestly if LFD was server only and still did its job (I got into a dungeon in 1-5 minutes) I couldn't care less if it was server only. I couldn't care less even if it was part of the server only. I'm sure no one else would care too as long as it worked, we got into dungeons fast, and it did its job.

Spamming the LFG channel or trying to text filter the current LFG tool is not cool.

Protip: Not even an LFD will get you into lowbie dungeons in 5 minutes if you're a DPS.

Also the current LFG tool is filtered by level and finding key words for dungeons if you want them is easy "basilisk", "SM", "naga" come to mind immediately.

I'm aware of that. The 45 minute waits as DPS in WoW were terrible. It's better than spamming LFG for 2 hours though.

Yes you can type in filter words. That's a pain, and silly. Sometimes you'll miss groups if you don't type in a very specific key word. Hardly ideal. LFD is better in every possible way.

Ah, but that's why we have keywords, if someone types it in correctly, then you join the group, if not then they're SOL.

The problem with the two scenarios you pose are that they rely on two different sets of things happening.

A. The LFG board is flooded with so many requests it becomes impossible to find what you want.

B. There are few people around, thus you must spam LFG.

These two scenarios cannot co-exist. If the LFG board is flooded with to many responses, then type in the key word and take the group that pops up.

If you must spam LFG, then no one is using the board or few enough people are using it so it makes it easy to navigate.

There is also:

C. Absolutely no one is around. The boards are empty and the LFG chat is dead.

There isn't really a solution to this except either restarting fresh on a server that is more your time zone or LFD. Except, LFD could lead to this. Absurd statement, but here is why. With an LFD, you see all of your content on the first run or at least a huge majority of it. Without it you might bypass content and other areas. This gives incentive to go back with new characters and explore those areas. The more people that do that, the less problem with finding groups we will have.

So basically you're on the side of making things more difficult than they have to be for no reason.... I see...

One thing I'm curious about. What happens to new servers that come up? What about players that are on low pop servers? How are you going to encourage players to spread out so one server doesn't get flooded?

I recall certain servers in WoW getting massive queues because people wanted to be on the high pop server. It was easier to get groups.

LFD solves so many problems it's not even funny. It causes far less problems than you think.

Sure, we'll go with that. It's not like I want to see this game last longer than a few months or anything.

That made absolutely no sense.

If you HONESTLY think the reason WoW is losing subscribers is because of LFD. If you HONESTLY think that LFD will hurt this game... I'm sorry but you are completely wrong. Let's ignore the question I posted in my last thread because it's actually valid. It's ok though... in your mind LFD will hurt Tera.

Hopefully En Masse makes the smart decision and puts LFD in.

Oh, you forgot what I posted earlier? That's cool. Yeah, LFD is going in. The debate is on whether it should be cross server or not, so technically we've been derailing the thread for the past few posts.

Yes I'm aware that it's still going in. For some reason people are still balling their eyes out not wanting it to go in. Hopefully you're not one of those?

Anyways... my stance on cross server is basically this...

As long as it works. I'm happy

However, every MMO needs a cross server LFD now. Especially when a game just launches. You want your population to spread out across multiple servers. Not have them all zerg one server causing lag/crashes/queues. If people can't find groups on unpopulated servers they will rush to populated ones. That's going to cause huge problems.

Anyways I think I've ranted on long enough. I've already posted on opinions on why LFD cross server is good... no point in repeating.
