@PhillipVIII: I'll repeat myself: How different is that to the Lancers that I've seen with no crystals using DPS glyphs and not using Shield Counter after learning it or much of any abilities past block, that then proceed to rage at the Damage/Heal for grabbing aggro so much and dying? You know, about half the Lancer's I've partied with so far...

And what about the Warriors that will do amazing, like the other half of Lancer's I've partied with?

Aside from people who don't know how to play, my point is on the mechanics within. We can't base this on stupid players.

Given 2 middle of the road geared players, a lancer will fair better than warrior in normal mode instances where most folks will be. At the same time there are NPC/instance mechanics that target non-lancers (kuma babies & fireballs etc) - If these haven't been revised things will be evenmore interesting.

Your videos are HM, those guys know their strut by then and have to be well geared. It's an item check system and they must have done those instances many, many times over. My concern is not HM, it's normal mode where new players will be in for a big surprise.

By this time next week I expect to see you and the lot squeaking lack of player skills along with videos that have no relevance - to the masses who will hate warriors because they were set up to fail.

@PhillipVIII: Again, you list reasons that have nothing to do with the Warrior's skills or the Warrior class at all, but instead is a fault of EME and the design of the game.

This isn't anything new and happens in every MMO. The perfect example is everyone's favorite MMO: WoW.

A lot of dungeons and raids throughout WoW's life have been built with a focus on ranged DPS. It wasn't/isn't always like that, but there are a LOT of fights where you are at a huge disadvantage for having more than a few melee. They've done better with some raids where you want to get an even mix for various reasons, but a LOT of them basically come down to "no, we already have 3 melee DPS for this 25-man Raid, only ranged DPS from now on".

This can go for tanks as well, as a lot of fights were designed with one tank in mind over others. For some fights, you HAD to have a Druid tank. If you had any other tank, you either failed, or you had a HELL of a time. Conversely, some dungeons REQUIRED Paladins over Warriors/Druids because only they could handle AoE situations well enough (pre-WOTLK).

In cases like this, they COULD buff the class itself, or they could design things better. Most of the time, they buff/nerf classes and end up pushing the requirement from one tank to another, instead of fixing the base problem.

As others have said, giving Warriors a block and other "Lancer-like" abilities might help them go through the dungeons easier, but it doesn't fix the underlying problem. The fact that you keep targeting and insulting the Warriors for this problem and acting as if all of them barely have the mental capacity to live, yet proclaim Lancers as the almighty gods-among-mortals to save us from damnation, is a show that you put focus of the problem on the wrong aspect.

Maybe think a little and come up with more than a single line for a response. Oh, wait, you're only trolling, nevermind. Come and get your food. ^_^

As said, Warriors will have a hard time tanking some HM and end game content... but wait, you said that's not what's important, it's the midrange dungeons... the ones that already have some Warriors that tank them fine, now, without the "fixed" skills or the ability to queue as tanks. Will you get idiots that are Damage and queue as Tanks? Most likely, but that would happen with whichever class would be Hybrids and is not a problem of the Warrior class, but the people playing and the faster Tank queues. With a new set of Tanks in the queues, things should hopefully get better. Will you get people that are ill prepared to tank yet try anyways? Of course, many Lancers fall in this category already as pure Tanks.

The solution to the problems isn't to heavily change Warriors, it's to fix the broken mechanics of those dungeons (kumas).

I just hope that the IMS sets Warriors as Damage by default and they manually have to change to Tank, not just have it come up blank and force them to choose up front.
