Hello,
First of all I didn't post this in the "NEW TO TERA" section, because most of the questions there are "What is the difference between PVP and PVE?" So I doubt any experienced players roam over there.
So I had no intention of purchasing TERA. A good story, and dynamic quest are important to my enjoyment, because I don't care about "world first", so I was just going to wait on GW2. However, with the sweet Amazon $25 bucks deal, why not? If only to see the combat, which has been hyped so much. I understand the game has a lot of issues with everything else, but everyone talks as if there is nothing to do in this game, worthwhile that is, besides combat. Which after reading these forums I have found out there are is no Battle-Ground or PvP instance in this game. Is this true? Is there any form of organized PvP in this game? Can I level through PvP? I just find it hard to believe that the one aspect of the game, that every reviewer is rating 10/10 is so limited.
Other question is regarding class. I have never really paid much attention to which class did the most damage. I just look at fun factor. However, upon reading the forums I have seen a lot of gripe from Warriors and other classes which get kicked from groups because of poor DPS. So although I could care less about the DPS meter, I don't think it would be very enjoyable to wait forever to get invites to parties or just get kicked from them. So please comment on classes you found fun playing regardless of damage. Just think purely "FUN FACTOR".
Also if I were to play a Healer/Mage class, do I miss out on the whole "TRUE ACTION COMBAT" thing? I mean, do I have to play a Berserker or something to get a true feel for TERA's combat system?
What level should I play until to get a good idea of the class? 20?
Next question, is it necessary to join a guild? Can I just play solo the entire time?
How is the lag? I have a brand new ASUS g75, so I'll be fine running TERA. Have you had any issues related to server lag?
That is all. Thank you for reading, and possibly answering.
