@Thundercat - Same pic in 2 threads? Come on, the internet is full of funny pictures, use another one!

I posted this in a separate thread but thought it'd be appropriate here:

Hey all,

I want to chime in on this because this is something that everyone is clearly passionate about (as am I.) The maintenance we had early was to address the exploit to stop people from using it.

We're currently in the exploration phase to see how widespread this exploit was, who used it, and where the items are now. Once we gather this data we'll be taking care of it. We have to understand and be confident we're changing the right people and equipment and not potentially punishing innocent people because we wanted a quick answer vs. the right one.

Rest assured we'll let everyone know what we found and what actions we took in the near future.

Thanks,
-Chager

The problem with taking their time to make an announcement with something like this is that the longer the wait the less viable some of their options become. For example if they don't make an announcement for a couple of days people can complain that they got unfairly rolled back from the point the glitch was fixed to when action was taken.

The announcement will happen tomorrow most likely. Usually exploits are discussed for a day or two before any major announcement is made.

edit, that was a quick announcement.

I also doubt if they are rolling back they will worry about any additional item losses for the exploiters.

If their system is set up for it they can be very specific in item removal but only seen Blizzard and Trion able ot do it.

I doubt people are expecting immediate action to be taken place and start banning and rolling back people but getting the announcement out early on the course of action they are going to take I think would be reasonable to get out asap/

You have far too much faith in the forum posters. There are a few threads already screaming about how no action has yet been taken.

EVERY new launch of a game has bugs.

I was there DAY ONE for WOW and Guild Wars launches and they were seriously buggy for about a month.

This is a good game...needs a hell of a lot of polish, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

subbed for year...I believe there is a fun gem here and willing to put my money and time into it....(crosses fingers)

You might want to make a sticky thread Chager, or else the same threads will keep on popping up.

i bet the op is one of the exploiters, that's why he's attacking the people who wants it FIX...

I found out about the exploit while I'm at work so I didn't exploit. Also, I wasn't attacking anybody. I'm just saying, be reasonable and give them at least ONE working day to figure out a plan. They also found out about the issue during the middle of the work day and immediately shut down the servers to stop the exploit from being further exploited. That's an impressive response time.

If you look at all my forum posts in the past, you will see that I am not a hardcore fan of Enmasse either. In fact, I was ready to quit because of the lag issues, but miraculously, after I posted that thread, my lag issues went away for the most part.

How long does it take enmasse to do the following, I believe it has been enough time for them to at least do the following which is.

1. Post an announcement because of the outrage on the forums about the Cash Shop for example.

The "outrage"? You mean the 3 or 4 people who keep spamming the forums over and over about a non-issue? EME isn't obligated to type up an official statement every time some idiot gets up on a soapbox and thinks their issue is important.

Here's an issue though; say some bad person enchanted a bunch of gear, and threw it up on the broker. People seen the gear and bought it without knowing about the exploit. They just think they got a good deal. Do you take their gear way?

Give them back their money at the exploiter's expense. Most modern mmos have utlities/tools that allows the devs to track any item to it's "birth date".

I know Lineage 2 had it so there's no reason why TERA wouldn't.

They have more bugs and problems to fix that the community "Waited to be fixed" and were just given a cash-shop.

god forbid everything not be fixed three week out from launch in an MMO...
