Where are you getting this from? There is no reason to think this game will have that issue, and from what I've seen so far with Chronoscrolls and IP Blocking, En Masse has been taking the issue seriously for a long time. Quit crying wolf.

I agree. As for zerg guilds, there are two ways to earn Vanarch. Via PvP (which can only be done in battlegrounds in an organized team, so any team of 5 can win this), or via popular vote. One zerg guild isn't going to overcome everyone's vote.
I do think there will be a lot going on with this PvP system. From what I've seen in some other games, there's always drama and leaders of different types on the different servers, so the political system will serve to enhance that and give players an additional thing to do at endgame. I'm personally excited for it, but in the end it does all come down to server community, and what your server makes of it all.
As for it just being controlling taxes, there is more to it. They can add or delete certain NPCs and town features like class trainers, specialty shops, teleporters, etc. They also can only do these things by spending vanarch points. In order to gain those points, they have to do certain quests (supposedly hard stuff).
Side note: Am I the only one whose noticed the influx of negative, uninformed junk that's been posted on these forums the past two days?
I'd rather it be fluff than game breaking. if it becomes too powerfull RMT will take it over. With things as they are, this game is in serious danger of becoming an RMT haven. No, I think they need to leave poli right where it is thank-you very much.

As of now, I think the political system will be pretty much what we, the players, make it.
