not saying that polls will change anything
If you don't care either way, why vote at all....take a stand or don't worry about it. Because saying we do not care just means exactly that. Because either way your fine with the results.....you said it not I.
Perhaps I was being unclear. These polls offer black or white options, and some of us want a grey option. It's not "don't care" (my poor wording) it could be more like "I'm fine with either choice".
Just knowing how many people vote for "yes" or "no" isn't sufficient. If you want EME to consider the poll's results, it has to give *everyone* a chance to vote. When you deny options for those like me, you won't know how many people are interested in the outcome, but won't be swayed by either choice.

just like left for dead 2 censor in australia and world of warcraft censor in china

The only thing that should fall to the consumer is feedback on the changes they made and how to improve them.
Elin fans/supporters need to get their sh*t together and decide once and for all which battle to fight:
The one they can never win, because EME has stated straight-up that the changes are here to stay.
or
The one they have a chance to do something about - getting better artwork on the changes.
The only thing that should fall to the consumer is feedback on the changes they made and how to improve them.
If this is the approach all along, I agree.
The "we are listening approach" has a double bladed edge.
In the cases of pets shops/bop gear. It was consumer feedback that changed these aspects.
Players won't qq about things they like. So what started as a small group asking for a change, resulted in a change. Now you have a larger group coming to protest that.
Conclusion:
When making a change based off consumer feedback. Eme should really run these polls themselves. To make sure that feedback actually represents the playerbase.
