Problem is the 'hardcore' lable is thrown around against any1 who doesn't agree that a game needs somthing done to it to make it easy in general or level faster.
I actually want the game to level slower and to be harder... thus i must be hardcore? No, im not. I just want a game thats actually a game and not a interactive movie -.-
A game needs to be a challenge to be a game, it needs to last, needs to have somthing to strive for.
Fast leveling and easy monsters does not a game make.
I am sorry but that is insane. You were presented with two choices. Either you want to keep the Player Shops or you want to leave them out.
A choice of "I am fine with either" does not give a clear sign of anything. Your an undecided voter.
Do you understand now? There is no third option! You either want it or do not want it.
It isn't insane at all. I'm not sure how Valk or I could possibly make it more clear. You have players with ALL kinds of preferences. You can't just blindly only offer 2 options and refuse to acknowledge others.
Btw Valk, I actually agree with you 100% about there being categories outside of hardcore and casual. I am in one of those many categories. But since the qualifications for "hardcore" and "casual" aren't universally defined and are very subjective, I kept it simple and only referred to the two. But yeah, a company should try and consider all types of gamers as best they can. Most of the time it's just not possible, and they end up aiming for their targeted market overall. Which does sometimes suck.
This has nothing to do with hardcore or casual. If you do not care if the system is in game or not why would you even care to vote on this poll.
Do you not see what I am saying, you already declared your fine either way so you don't need to vote. So why would you care what happens in the end?
Maybe if you said "I would prefer another system and here is what I think would work better" you still saying you rather not have the Pet System but another system.
Successful games not named WoW don't base their decisions on the casual-gamer. Which is why I'm concerned about EME and the chances of Tera being successful 6 months from now once most of the casual players leave even once they were given everything they asked for anyway.
Successful games should not base their decisions SOLELY on the casual player. If somehow you gleaned that as my implication, it wasn't my intention. That said, successful games SHOULD offer suitable content and options for the broad spectrum of players that play these types of games. They should try to accomodate both in such a way that attempts to avoid negatively impacting one vs the other. In terms of revenue stream, however, I think it's paramount to keep a watchful eye on the largest portion of your player-base, the casuals.
And I think you're just parroting a meme in regard to WoW. I find it amusing that so many people feel the need to berate Blizzard over the new raid finder feature, claiming some nebulous harm from the system. I'm sorry, but offering casuals access to greater game content in no way detracts from anyone else's ability to continue to access more difficult content. The gear that comes from the raid finder tool is substantially lower quality than that of the normal mode content. And the raid finder gear pales drastically in comparison to the heroic mode rewards. Also, it's laughable that the same mindless crowd cries out now that the game is just too easy when very, very few people are 8/8 DS HMs.
Ok let me explain why being undecided or care either way "effects you"
Salesman: Sir would you like a car or a truck?
You: I don't care, anyone will be fine.
Salesman: Ok truck it is.
Now here is the key part of this example, you just gave up your right to make a choice. You got a truck you may or may not like it, but it doesn't matter someone else decide for you.
This is the message you are sending to EmE when you vote for "I could care either way". Your telling them to do what ever they want.
So you also give up your right to complain about anything you don't like. Since now they feel like they can do anything they want because they think "Eh people don't care what we do".
You didn't make up your mind or let your voice be heard.
I am sorry but people who are undecided like that and can't even make a simple choice IMO have no right to vote. Debate it all you want!
You are not understanding. All analogies suck, but it's more like this:
I walk into a dealership.
Salesman: Hi, would you like a car or a truck?
Me: Well, I see there's other types of vehicles in the lot besides cars and trucks...can I look at one of those? I like cars and trucks, maybe there is something in-between?
Salesman: No, I'm only going to offer you the choice of a car or truck. Because *I* think you should choose between just those 2.
Me: But, I'd like the option of another type of vehicle...
Salesman: No. Car or truck?
Me: .........
That is what these polls are like. Only 2 options, and nothing else, despite the fact that there could be more. EME could never get accurate feedback polling from these, as it is missing a chunk of preferences. You folks are assuming that the issues are all "yes" or "no" questions, and they are not.
If someone doesn't care what happens, would they go vote? No. So having an option saying "I don't care" would not get all "I don't care" voters, so it would be an incorrect value anyway.
Meanwhile people who do want something, or do not want something, will vote, if able. As long as they are aware of the poll.
Sometimes I wish they had a separate server for only smart people, so I could roll there and get away from the insanity.

You just changed the scenario thought.
So your saying
EmE: Pet Shops, or No Pet Shops
You: I see why pet shops are nice, but I also see why pet shops are bad. I want to see another type of system.
You: = Vote No pet shops
Or
You: I see why pet shops are nice, but I also see why pet shops are bad. I want to see a hybrid of it were pet shops are limited to one area of the city.
You: = Voted to keep pet shops
Not to mention EmE did not give anyone an option. What I am pointing out is, if you say you care either way your giving them the right to choose for you.
In truth you rather have a poll like this
1) Keep Pet shops
2) Remove Pet Shops
3) Remove Pet Shops add another system (why bother with this one?)
The Poll should look like this
1) Keep pet Shops
2) Remove Pet Shops [x}
-----Fill in further feedback below---------
I picked remove pet shops, only because I believe a better system could be made because...blah blah blah blah!
and in truth that is what we have with this poll, instead of saying this why I picked to remove pet shops you complained about the lack of "I don't care give my vote to EmE" options....
i understand that many want more choices, but then the question is what those choices are and which can be considered statistically significant, and if an alternation is decided upon, which solutions are actionable.
currently there are two known available configurations of pet shops: available and not available
the actual implementation of other options (such as upgrades to AH to include buying) can't be determined, and are not immediately actionable
the question these polls are designed to answer is
"Which currently available configuration will satisfy the most players when implemented?"
rather than
"Which hypothetical configuration will satisfy the most players ideally?"
because while there's always a better system out there somewhere, we can't achieve it with the software and hardware we currently have

Fast leveling and easy monsters does not a game make.
I want this game to last a few years, like the first mmo I played did.(EQ2, 6 years)
Most people nowadays are satisfied when a game gives them maybe 3 months.
This is the biggest issue I have, I just don't think the majority of the "WoW" generation understand this.
They want faster/easier nownownow and have 0 patience or think that since it is a "game" everything should be handed to them.
Go play any other game and say winning should be handed to you.
Remember this EME;
Diablo is a big competitor for May. Having announced it's release date as may 15th, you better ensure that people aren't reaching the end and becoming too bored too quickly.
I like cars and trucks, maybe there is something in-between?
using your analogy, imagine there are no vehicles other than cars or trucks
you could ask them to build you a new car-truck hybrid, but that would take months
