Alienware are overpriced because of their name. Done. Get over it. And since when does owning an Alienware, label you as a "Pro-Gamer", someones E-Peen is to big.

I have dated guys who are professional gamers in tourneys from DOTA to Starcraft II, Many of them have partnerships, and them + their friends + every gaming cafe & sane person I have spoken to have said never to touch alienware. I could write an article on a gaming website right now & say that TERA was the #1 game for pedrophiles & raepists...does it make it true? no. its the opinion of the writer.

PRO gamers make their OWN system.

I built a fragbox, $2,800. Same setup w Alienware (had to CALL them too because it couldnt be setup in the freaking editor. but its ok cause im like an hour from their HQ) was $5,200ish.

Does that let me choose a case or what brand the GPU is? no. Plus they dont use 3rd party cases and I wanted the Pink NZXT PHANTOM case.

Alienware is the Apple of the gamer world... ;x sorry to say!

Building a PC doesn't make much sense. They are inferior to Alienware machines and cost about the same amount of money. Besides, I like the support Dell gives me. I can't tell how many times Dell has removed a few viruses from my PC.

Are you serious? I built this for half the cost of any recent Alienware.

Dell sucks period. I have a 1730m xps laptop that cost me $3,000 and my work station at work is a dell. They. are. trash. Underpowered components that are hard to replace or upgrade and terrible driver support for their products. I would never recommend someone buy a Alienware nor a Dell. Funny they are the same company now.
...

You have SLI 570s? Listen, my Alientware has dual 680s and probably cost less than your PC. Mine only cost me $5500.

Because they are as big of tools are the OP?

If your too lazy to do it right and have more money then sense you buy prebuilt.

Tournaments are often played with alienware because the sponsors have lots of money, they look cool to noobs, and they push the image of "pro" by buying computers many can not obtain because of the price. Yet after you do the research you realize they are overpriced as a apple. At least apple uses quality materials in their cases.

My fragbox was using dual 6990 at 2,800. Order two EVGA 680s because I wanted SSAO but hated the 580. That extra $850 still puts my entire build WAY below your total.

Thats w/ 32GB 1600 OC Ram, and a i7 980X.

I see there are just a bunch of poor custom built pc casuals in here, not many pro's.

Do you custom build your cars too? I hear it's cheaper and they run better.

LMFAO why yes sonny jim we do build our own cars too.......
