PvP & PvE servers (Transfers, IMS, etc)

First off, is anyone else bothered by the fact that we can't transfer among both types of servers? An official response to a logical explanation would be nice. It makes absolutely no sense that someone from a PvP server cannot move to a PvE server and vice versa. We're not reaping any ground breaking benefits from moving, only positives from experiencing a new community and game focus.

I would also love to know why we have all been segregated from the IMS, it was NOT like this at the beginning. I remember partying each and every server at the time and things were fine. Not just lancers would help move the IMS' downtime, but by partying *every* server. The more people in que, the more opportunity for faster matches.

tl;dr : Server segregation is unnecessary. Why was this even put into place?

Unfortunately, it was put in place because some PvP'ers QQ about how unfair it is that a person could level on a PvE server where they are "safe" and then switch to a PvP server at 60. While I understand the theory behind this, I don't see PvP servers being that much harder to level on. (Especially with all the complaints about people "turtling in safe zones.")

That being said, I kinda wonder with GvG on PvE servers, what would happen to the population of PvP servers if the switch was made?

Edit: I've also suggest that perhaps a certian "requirement" be placed, such as requiring certain PvP achievements to transfer. My Other idea would be to put a cap on server type transfers (Say 50?) or give people incentives to pick a server type and stay with it. I think if staying on a PvP server for 55 levels in a row yielded a server bound piece of PvP gear, might have more people inclined to stay on that server.

Because people would level characters in the safe gank-free environment of a PvE server then transfer over at lvl 60. And I really dont want to queue with anyone thats playing on a PvP server, since that is where most of the IMS griefing is happening.

Transfer limits however would be unnecessary had EmE had PvP at end-game like in K-tera, but us 'mericans want to kill other people as soon as possible..

Honestly does it matter if they level to 60 'gank free'? If you really wanted to, you could simply level a character on Feral Valley 'gank free', which I'm pretty sure is the least populated out of the four pvp servers. Hell, I leveled a second character to 60 on Basilisk Crag's channel one and saw 0-2 people around max, I could only imagine what other channels would be like.

If anything, people should be happy that more players want to transfer to their server to pvp with them (Keeping the server active and healthy). If you're into combat, you should welcome anyone's challenge, not dissect the details of their leveling process.. because at the end of the day, who cares? Leveling themselves to 60 on a PvE server means nothing, if anything people who leveled on a PvP server would have the advantage of being familiar with PvP.

IMS griefing: Thats not a community, thats individuals. Theres really no grounds for you to say that. ;\

@ Alexisia Thats my point exactly, by them adding GvG to PvE servers defeats the point of why most people rolled on PvP servers and not PvE to begin with. I'm sure more than half the players would love to play 'gank free' and have a nice community where theres organized pvp (In a sense), but since they're making these drastic changes to server types.. at least give people the opportunity to go where they want.

I see it all the time "RL > game"... but that simply is not the case with something like this. I would have LOVED to be on a PvP server, ganking or not. Though in my case, I do have often step away for a brief moment or tab out for 30 seconds every so often. Sure, I am able to set aside time to sit and play (for a nexus or dungeon) but while just leveling, I am going to play in between my real life activities. Logging out or returning to a safe haven every time I step away just gets annoying in a very short amount of time.

If I am ganked while I am playing, then that is fine, no big deal. If I tab out for a moment and come back dead, that just creates a very un-enjoyable game and most likely would have not continued my sub. It took me over a month to hit 60 in with one character as it is.

As for adding GvG on PvE servers, Dragonfall, which is perhaps the most populated PvE server has maybe 2 or 3 GvGs going on at the moment. I large amount of them have ended either in a draw or surrender. There is no GvG on PvE servers that I see.

@ Kaito At least the option is still available to GvG on the PvE servers. Your post really doesn't say much about the segregation.

Any new eta on the pvp to pve server transfers you said was coming and any plans in the future to shut down certain servers for transfer?

–]knoxxer[S] 1 point 1 hour ago

No plans for pvp to pve quite yet.

We may shut down some transfers but nothing planned.

The above is the response i got from the AMA on Friday on just pvp to pve. So nothing in the near future for any of it. TBH they should be happy with people wanting to just transfer and not leave all together.
