Yea but since those compass things will be In the game It tells me there will be restricted areas and I would hope newb island and MAYBE the city would be the only two places for those restrictions.

If I remember correctly the Vanarchs of the different regions can decide whether their regions are pvp enabled or pvp disabled.

So people could escape to a region where Pvp Is turned off, and this could happen on a Pvp server, hmm sounds abit lame to me.

Who knows. Maybe if you are already flagged you can still get attacked by other flagged people. You are just unable to attack unflagged people in non pvp zones. I wouldn't really worry about the lameness of any situation yet, untill we know all the rules.

To have the Pvp compass to begin with tells me that to many places will be restricted on a Pvp server to begin with. As to the outlaw thing as I said It will wear off 60 sec's after no Pvp has happened, hence you will need to declare each time.

That's where the community comes into play. If a Vanarch would turn off PvP in a region on a PvP server for no good reason, that'd certainly cause rivalries between guilds... to be settled with Guild Vs. Guild!

Also if you're flagged you can be attacked by non-flagged people.

So the big issue is that you have to delare that want to kill someone before you can do it? I dunno lord you seem hell bent on making up your mind on the pvp before you even know what the rules are. Who knows maybe they will make it so pvp is 24/7 if enough people complain.

Um, no, there's pretty much no issue now. This is a PvP flag that just tells the game to let your attacks hit other players. Its purpose, I presume, is to resolve that friendly fire problem from before - since with constant PvP your attacks would hit everyone who even got near you.

I should mention, the flag allows those "defender of the weak" types to assist players against Outlaws without accidentally catching the victim in the crossfire.

That is not true, the game prolly wasn't even built with a pvp server in mind. The compass means nothing in that regard.
