Question about looking behind you

I feel like I missed something really simple when I played, but I was unable to figure out a way to pan the camera and look behind me while moving forward. Moving the mouse left or right turns my character. Moving the mouse while holding down either mouse button fires off a spell. I also tried turning the mouse and holding CTRL, SHIFT, and ALT, but those had no effect at all.

I know this is supposed to be possible because yesterday I was watching a Tera PVP video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMioqCqPouU) and this guy was running and smoothly panning around to look behind him a lot while kiting. and not just straight behing, but it looked like he could pan around at any angle he wanted while h kept moving forward.

Any help?

thanks.

depends on your class I think. or maybe its the fact I used an xbox contoller.

Warrior + controller = no problems

Friends playing a Sorc with keyboard/mouse = couldn't do it

S should be back peddle and if you change your camera without trying to move it should not change your direction -.-

if there is no option for this the game is going to lose alot of people it just feels like its made for console gamers more then PC

he was prob pressing S in the video to run foward but look behind

The only way I know of to do this is to be good with coordinating your wasd movement with your mouse.

people expect this game to play like other MMOs. It doesn't, and it won't. This game plays like a hybrid of an action game and an MMO. There's no option to look around without changing the direction your character is aiming, there's no way to click your skills in combat, there's no way to stand somewhere in battle and focus on your skill rotation. If you don't have good reflexes and good hand-eye coordination you're going to have a difficult time with this game. TERA is not going to lose customers because of these elements of the game, rather the people who need gameplay like that were never part of the target audience to begin with.

Yes. It can be done with some coordination of WASD and mouse. Just practice. 8)

I'm asking because I saw someone do it.

all you do is rotate the camera with your mouse.... If you're facing one direction, and move your mouse so that you're looking behind you, press "s"....you'll be moving down, but in reality your character will be running fowards. If that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply. I do know how to do that, but the video i saw showed him freely panning around, nit just whipping the camera around 180 and then hitting S. It is hard to describe but if you watch it you'll know what I mean.
