Radical idea to appeal to everyone

It's pretty clear that we have different audiences with diametrically opposed mechanics requests.
I see a bunch of polls with 50/50 or 30/30/30 type outcomes.
Maybe instead of taking the standard approach of a bunch of server with the same ruleset, eme could invest a little more manpower to have a bunch of servers with different rulesets.
Profit from from each audience, instead of choosing one.

Instead of a collective team, you could assign different devs to different servers.

1.Pvp-Economy:
100%boe gear, Lfd without port, 2Bg day limit, crafting gear is equal power, all future raiding plans stick to owbosses.

2. Pvp-Hc:
Top gear is obtained through pvp rewards or owbosses, eventually add arenas with ranking, No lfd, bgs are comeptitively ranked.

3. Pve:
Cross server Lfd with port, mostly bop gear, server announcements for boss kills, add instanced raiding eventually.

4. Rp:
Current design for rp server. Super radical suggestion : Rpers don't need customer service as much, their version could be dungeon masters. (customer service with limited mechanic changing toolsets for stories)

5. K-tera:
For those who wanted tera in it's original form.

6.Pvpve:
Current state of cbt3 after bop/no shop/lfd/no bg daily cap changes take place.

omg, what dev in his right mind wants little babies like this playing the game.
They're so high maintenance they're not worth the sub....

More Server variety the better, problem would be the populations on those servers.

...doubt they'd want you with that type of reply.

I know I don't like playing with people who don't care about game content and shun all ideas but their own. Prefer to play with people trying to better the game for all involved, making the game more sandbox than rollercoaster. But I am also a hypocrite since I'd abolish PvE servers and retain 1 server type, each server would be designated a name dependant upon their server locations. I'd have servers located all over, Seattle, LA, Baja, Las Vegas, Dallas, Chicago, Cincinnati, Miami, New York...

Why 1 server type? I'd like to meet all sorts playing my sandbox game. PvErs, PvPers, RPers...much richer community when that happens.

I miss the days when I could join a server, and know that it's just like all the others and I'm not getting/missing special treatment in certain areas of the game, or missing out on content other servers get access to...

Iknowrite, what dev is going to value a idea of a player whos been a dev for smaller online games, thats title was specific to character build/item balancing.

They could even go so far as to merge the RPPVE and RPPVP together with the ability to flag whether or not the player wants to PvP or not. Though I'm not too sure how those servers typically work, so it might not be best.

I agree though, that's all we need, and should ever have. Adding more servers just creates confusion. Soon, any new player joining the game will have to read through pages of forum threads regarding the specific differences regarding each server type, figure out which one suits them best, and hope it works out. Then, if someone ever feels like changing servers, they may have to completely re-adjust to the game because they have different types of content that made that server's community evolve differently than the others.

Interesting idea but just far to unfeasible. Content updates would be a nightmare since there would be multiple versions of them each time.

I don't think EME is that big of a company to be able to dedicate resources to such a huge undertaking.
