Ranged Advantages On Inclines

Okay this is my second thread on this topic. I feel as if I worded my point wrong on my first thread because I wasn't getting positive responses and I feel as if people were misunderstanding me. I refuse to believe that only I have experienced and am bothered by this issue.

Here's a scenario : I'm a melee fighting on a hill. I'm uphill from my target, but the target is clearly within melee range in all dimensions. My attacks sometimes, more often than I like, do no damage i.e. they miss, going right through the target.

The problem with this is only melee are effected by this, being as we can't aim our attacks vertically with the reticule. Ranged on the other hand can simply aim down at their downhill target, or up at a uphill target, and hit them just fine.

I know the animations can't be adjusted, but I believe that the vertical dimension of melee attacks should be extended. In other words, if the range of a melee attack is 2m, than that should count for horizontal and vertical dimensions. It's only fair that melee are able to hit target that they're right on regardless of incline or no incline. Ranged are able to do this. Melee should be able to as well. I hope you guys understand what I am saying lol.

Please if there are some melee out there that agree this is a problem, please support this thread! Thanks!

It's true. It is an issue. It's a shame they won't come out with a fix for it anytime soon, but whatever.

Stay away from slopes and this would be a hard fix to implement properly IMO. Not worth it for the time being, EME has a lot of other things they need to fix first.

i'd accept that. would be nice to know it has been acknowledged though and a fix will be implemented some day in the future. that's the purpose of forum threads

Actually its not only a melee deal. On my sorc i group up mobs on hillsides all the time so i can cast fireblast right on top of myself. Instead of casting it 10m away from me, it will cast it like 3m away from me and hit the mobs right in my face because im on an incline.

Range casters lose range on inclines, same as melee.

Does inclines hit the monster too? Might be a odd way of tanking.

ya and that should be fixed as well. but thats only a few abilities for ranged that will be effected by this. all your abilities that use the reticule to aim a projectile will be uneffected by this. for melee it effects all of our abilities, with the exception of slayers distant blade

most of the sorc spells are messed up with this because most of the get fired 10m in front of you.

well thats really not the problem. if it fires at 10m then thats just the range of the abilities explosion or wtvr, but if the explosion point is on or not on an incline, it should still hit all targets. thats the point
