So the game all comes down to being challenging on the very last level as it stands, everything else can just be out-leveled to make it easier.

Not to mention the fact that it takes good content and gives it half the lifespan it would've had otherwise.

There should be NOTHING wrong with doing SB at level 25 and getting at least SOMEWHAT of a challenge out of the dungeon. WoW's dungeons generally span 6 levels. At level 26, SB is probably soloable by most classes.

At level 26, there are no experience rewards for killing the monsters. Hell, just me being 24 cut off exp gain for most of the group until the last bit where the monster levels picked up a little, but I needed the quests done. There's also a loot change depending on what level the members are as well. The higher they are, the lesser the drops become. This is their incentive for people playing in the content level range? If they're just spamming a dungeon for experience and repeatable quests, doubt they care all that much for drops from anything other than a boss.

What we'll probably end up seeing, because of the level scaling, are people being left out of groups because they're too high they cut off rewards from kills, just because the game won't allow it due to that player being too overpowered they shouldn't get anything since it'll be too easy. So if you miss Bastion at level 20-23, groups will be less inclined to taking you unless they're just wanting to clear it for quests.

Which leads to groups being far too high for the content (far too high meaning 2 levels above the mobs because of the scaling), and just plowing through what should have been difficult.

Yeah, that's a whole separate issue. I noticed that mobs stop dropping as well when you're too high above them.

The sad part is that, once BoP arrives, there won't be as much need for this to happen (if any at all).

I'm not really seeing the issue here. Not because it was the OP that posted it but simply because I don't see the issue.

It's lvl 20 content and lvl 27 content which is low level content. All of the gear and rewards mean absolutely nothing the gear and rewards will be replaced by quests and other world drop gear in just a few hours of leveling.

I see this gear as NPC fodder for small monies. The faster you get those dungeons done the faster you can level even further and get better stuff latter on.

The level scales for PVP doesn't even bother me If I am getting owned by higher levels then oh well Looks like it's time to level again. This is nothing new this is MMO higher levels = better characters... You guys are just over thinking this entire process because we are capped each week and have nothing better to do except the same content we couldnt do before. When we reach End Game and capped 60 then everything will stay the same nothing will be different all mobs hard at 60 will continue to be hard at 60. Until or unless they up the level from 60-??? and so on.

This is MMO rule number 1 and RPG rule number 1 the higher your level the better you are.

If we're going to use that logic, we should just have everyone start at max level and get it over with.

KTera didn't have world PvP like NATera does, and suffice to say, players 3-4 levels apart were NEVER meant to fight each other for this reason.

Yes, levels affect your power in MMOs, but I've NEVER seen an MMO where level deviation affected it THIS much (that includes WoW, Lineage, Aion and Shadowbane).

Hell, I remember being at level 38 in Aion and killing a level 45 ganker with my fiancee. That wouldn't even be remotely possible in Tera...

Yeah, I was trying to avoid bringing that up for the sake of keeping this thread a little bit more on topic, since we know how things work around here.

So what you're saying is that no content, none whatsoever, matters until the level cap? Why the **** are you playing an MMO? They're naturally based around progression and exploration, no stagnation (which sitting at cap would imply). We aren't asking for all this low level stuff we're testing to be made valuable come release, we're asking for a game that boasts skill based gameplay, to toss out the madness of huge level factors in PvE, and make the game *gasp* require skill.

You can keep your PvP scaling if you want, I have absolutely no interest in that right now given the very topic of this thread. Duels and deathmatches are about it for me at this point, so I can at least join in a semi-fair fight.

/signed. Please remove this stupid feature. Never have I gotten denied entry to a group, even being a tank, because I'm "too high of level" even though I'm 2 levels over the recommended limit. Laaaaame feature is lame.

The damage formula is kind of weird, it's something like attack x (3 + 0.03 x Strength) for attack, defense x (0.5 + 0.01 x endurance) for defense, and I think it flat out divides your attack by the enemy's defense for equal level encounters. Then you get a flat out multiplier for level difference, so both your defense and attack increase against a low level target. At the extreme end, at level 38 on my priest I hit the event chests with ~400000 crits, and that was with my basic attack.

In general though I think the multiplicative nature of the game formula's is kind of silly. You see it on the kTera videos where players doing ~1000-2000 damage regular hits suddenly throw out a 200,000 damage crit, because they are stacking bonus crit damage, bonus crit damage to boss, bonus crit damage from behind, bonus crit damage from something else, all meaning you get something like a 50x multiplier to your damage.

Our guild likes to run around BAM hunting and it'd be nice if we could get a challenge out of ones that are lower levels than us, and not make hopeless efforts on those higher level than us.
