First off, wanna say to go check Testimony's thread for a ton of info and whatnot about this. I just wanted to post these videos ASAP for people interested in actually seeing it and didn't want them buried in his thread, so here's the link to his info: http://tera-forums.enmasse.com/forums/general-discussion/topics/KTera-Rift-system-activated-tonight-screenshots?page=1

Second: They happen every 3 hours (maybe within a set time of day, not sure) and last for about an hour, once the hour's up if any rifts are left open they all despawn and everyone goes on their way. With that said, here's the videos on twitch for now, uploading them to youtube will take awhile but they'll get there later and I'll update those links:

Second one part 1:

Second one part 2:

Edit: Updated youtube links since most people prefer it.

Laggy fun. Reminds me of when Ember Isle opened in Rift, so many people at once. Will be interesting to see how my somewhat older system holds up, might be time to rebuild in a couple months. Tax returns!!!

Maybe they'll figure out a way to scale spell effects, like in Rift.
That seems to be what was the problem.

(Also, are they missing textures? They all seem to be this solid silver color.)

Keep in mind that on Korea all these people have been waiting months and months to do this stuff. I don't think it'll be as crowded on NA unless they hold them off for a few months after release, etc.

And subsequently, yea it looked like textures were borked because of it. When I was actually fighting those mobs my video card usage was all the way down to like 15% constantly. I'm still not sure why it does this, but it's quite annoying. Only during boss fights I lag like crazy normally, so of course all the extra players on top of that just makes it worse. :(

Edit: Updated to youtube links as well.

I hope on pvp servers, players will be able to fight each other for Rift mobs.... I hope this area isn't totally pve...

I feel like they have to make them more frequent, otherwise too many people congregate for the event it will causes world-ending lag.

Actually, if you watch the first video, he even drags his cpu usage graph into view, and it was seldom operating at max cap. Looked like it was averaging around 65-75%. I'm relatively certain it's server-side, and in need of optimization.

Thanks Socio, cool vids, and very exciting if they figure out how to handle all those people on screen.
