Running Away in PvP is FAR FAR to Easy/Forgiving...

(THIS IS A PVP ORIENTED ISSUE IF YOU ARE A PVEr please EXIT the thread now)

Getting really annoy'd by this on PvP Servers. There is no way to turn on Outlaw and have some fun ganking when before you can chain land attacks on people they just dash away and mount up instantly.

This is WAY to forgiving...there is no "Shouts/Slows", Hamstring, fear, or means to slow someone down enough for them not to be able to just dash off and mount up. There is no way to stop them from mounting as once they are mounted it's impossible to catch them.

This ruins the game for me in a lot of ways because the game wants you to have fun openly PvPing but with how the current design is without any form of stopping people from just bailing out its not fun at all it's actually fairly aggravating which has led people to having to out level then corner trap people on like Lumbertowns bridge to get World PvP kills which is just ridiculous.

This should be fixed...some form of spell/skill should be devised for all classes to avoid people from just running from the fight.

Otherwise the only way to get PvP kills at the moment is to severely out-level everyone around you where you just 1 shot everything that moves...but thats not entirely fun / interesting.

Gankers crying they can't gank people and ruin their day
oh the HORROR.

*I want to kill someone who has no interest in fighting back, they can just run away if they don't want to fight, OH-NOZ"

Heh all jokes aside, I guess this can be annoying but think of it from the runner's point of view he/she needs a way to get away if they can/need to.

That was about as clever and constructive as diarrhea. Congratulations.

Ganking in PVP is a playstyle many enjoy and has been a part of MMOs since their creation. Without gankers PVP as a whole doesn't really exist since the point of a PVP server is for OWPvP and ganking each other. Nice try carebear.

To the OP, there are plenty of skills that come around later on in levels that act as stuns/sleeps/snares to help you pin people down for a bit. The things we have right now in the upper 30s really don't do much. However, the insta-mounting really should be looked at, it makes everything just a bit too easy to run away from.

/Yawn, running is a valid tactic if you have no hope in winning a fight. Cry me a damn river that you can't stop someone from taking the most logical course of action when faced with overwhelming odds.

Nothing screams carebear like picking fights with people who have no hope of winning.

Sorry to disappoint you, but whenever I've played on a PVP server I was never the person doing the ganking. OP is making a valid point that running away is too easy. If somebody chooses to run they should have to actually make a valid effort to do it just like they would if they fought back.

Being able to Teleport Jaunt a few feet, run forward a couple yards, and instantly mount up and peace out isn't PVP. Running is a valid tactic when done right. But when it's made too easy it's unfair to the other side of the PVP spectrum. Carebears be carebears.

if your target is able to get away from you that easily, you are bad and should roll on a pve server, i never had issues catching em....but maybe it's because im a lancer so i feel like a cowboy that catches a goat

ps: what class are u?

The best OWPvP involves multiple or even single people fighting over resources, areas, or bosses/mobs to gain actual rewards from their victories.

In a real pvp match if you get the other person/party to "run" you just won because you've proved your superiority. Don't try and justify your e-peen stroking from ganking lowbies for absolutely no reason.

It is far to easy:

I am using multiple speed Crystals to try to catch up to people but because of the low CD's on dashes/blinks it is fing impossible to lock someone down.

And why are you doing this exactly? What is the purpose of "chasing down" and landing that finishing blow on someone you've already obviously beaten? Damn man, if they run away and heal up maybe they'll come back and fight you, isn't that what you wanted all along?

I swear mmo players these days have absolutely no clue what pvp actually is.
