Running Away in PvP is FAR FAR to Easy/Forgiving...

Because you haven't won until that person is dead. I'm from a MMO period of time far less forgiving than the one casuals are raised in today.

Back in my MMOs if you die...you lose all your items/some of your gear if not all.

And there was no running.

With that said I'm not cheap...I'll wait until you are alone, or until there is more than 2-3 people vs you. Because I want to out play you. But that fun ends when you wimp out and run like a little girl.

The best OWPvP involves multiple or even single people fighting over resources, areas, or bosses/mobs to gain actual rewards from their victories.

In a real pvp match if you get the other person/party to "run" you just won because you've proved your superiority. Don't try and justify your e-peen stroking from ganking lowbies for absolutely no reason.

I never mentioned anything about lowbies, nor do I care about them at all. I also never disagreed or insinuated in what type of PVP is best. But to use your example - lets say you want an area for yourself because you need the mob that spawns there, you try to GANK (because somebody always has to hit first) the person standing there who is of EQUAL level and before you can land two hits he's used his 2 escape abilities, ran 5 feet, and mounted INSTANTLY away.

If that's what you want to see happen on a PVP server regularly, then you're the ultimate carebear. Am I debating with a monkey?

When I see the word "ganking" I immediately think of lowbies, if you're simply talking about fighting someone and they are able to run out at 10% health after a long fight, then yes that is pretty lame and probably needs to be looked at.

However if someone isn't willing to fight you to begin with they probably aren't going to come back and hassle you over what you just claimed.

That's exactly what we're saying. Thanks for finally understanding without making me look even more like the resident [filtered] of Tera. (Though the title sounds enticing.)

90% 80%...20% 10% it don't matter its just too easy to get away from having to actually fight and have skill on a PvP server...why be on a PvP server if you are going to p-u-sseh out of every fight and run back to a town and go back to PvEing.

So frustrating.

I think a good compromise would be time restrictions on summoning a mount after engaging in pvp combat. This would allow fights to not have an easy out button while still allowing lowbies or people with no interest in fighting back the ability to get away.

Just like you attacking someone else when they don't want you to attack them;
them running away when you don't want them to run away: Is still PvP.

I agree and support your post Crucifer. Make a PVP server what I was intended to be. Too often the hardcore PVP community takes a back sit to these carebears.

Waah. Cry us a river. Mmmm...yummy ganker tears.

Guess what! Running is a viable form of putting the 'versus' in 'player versus player'. Don't like it, go to a battleground so your enemies will always be around. What YOU are looking for is carebear. "Waaah I don't wanna have to level my alchemy and make dash scrolls and other things! Waaah I don't wanna chase them down on horseback! Waah I need to have the devs change the code for the entire playerbase so they can cater to the tiny percentage of us people who THINK we're something special!'

Cry more, whiny carebear, my cup isn't yet running over. 'Hardcore pvp'. What a joke.
