SWTOR devs answer community questions. Can we get some of that?

SWTOR Devs come out and answer some of the concerns their players have with the game.

Some questions I think we would all like to hear answers to are:

Are slayers working as intended, or do you think they need balancing?
Is reflect working as intended, or does it need balancing?

If EmE could just get those 2 questions answered, I think all of us forum-goers would be assuaged for a good while. All it might take is an email and a few minutes time from one of the devs in Korea...

We ask questions with no answers....
1. when are you going to fix all of the glitches in fane and BT
2. why am I rewarded to pug a group, but penalized when I run with a full guild
3. why are vanarchs decided by fake pvp-ing who then raise the tax to the max (15%)
4. why is our economy screwed, nobody has gold except the elite players who play all day
5. enchanting system, crafting, drop rates in HM, ALL BROKEN

I bet not one answer comes from these

We did get some of that less than a few weeks ago sucks you missed it, don't act as if they haven't done anything similar. Also answering those questions might calm you down but it wont calm down all the people on the forums, everyone has their own issues with the game and they can't fix them all at once.

Hey Amerilize,

thanks for the link to the reddit AMA. I'd seen it before, but it as good to read through again. Still, there are a number of issues, including the ones I mentioned above, that haven't been addressed. No one expects them to FIX anything immediately, we just want to hear their stance on it. That is really not too much to ask for in my opinion. Not when its clear the issues are affecting a significant percentage of your players.

Bonus is for partying with unknown people that could be terrible. It apparently isn't big enough, because people kick and disband even with the bonus when people aren't geared well enough. Perhaps pugs should get an even bigger boost so that people can just sleep through the event and avoid having to kick people all the time.

I get it I do, I also have a number of issues with the game that I would like to have sorted out, but at the same time we all need to be patient, voicing your opinion on bugs and things is fine and I think more people should do it.

However we can't expect them to give us a response now, it will probably just be a we don't know yet response and no one wants to hear that. If they give their opinion on the issue now and later decide to go a different direction that people don't like they'll be called liars and get a ton of hate directed at them.

Knoxxer on the reddit AMA said they would look into the reflect issue so they did address it, maybe they haven't found a solution yet. I think their way to combat slayers is to bring other classes like archer and beserker up rather than nerf slayer skills, if they do then there would be a new line of screaming customers wondering why their class was nerfed.

In QOA2 most classes will have their dmg taken in pvp tweaked and if I remember right stuns will also be tweaked in QoA2 so that should also help with the slayer opness. There might have been something about reflect that players observed as well I can't recall what it is atm.

I do think eme should address the concerns of the community hopefully they continue with their reddit AMA, maybe make it a monthly thing.

I understand people feel the need to know stuff but honestly people are very unreasonable. When an issue appear, it takes time to analysis what exactly is wrong and how to fix it w.o causing even more problem. On top of that manage the game, create new content and deal with many many other issue as well. Sorry but they aren't god, they are human too, they have work limit, and they need their breaks. I'm not even a programmer but I can understand the amount of work it takes to do anything of this size. Try organizing any even, and have 10 people coming up to you telling you different things are going wrong or something is missing blah blah blah and try to be able to come up with a solution quickly.
Ofc that does not give them excuse to just ignore stuff, I still expect them to address the issues asap, but like Amerilize said, making a statement than turning back on it is way worse than not making a statement at all. So if they don't know what to say they aren't going to say it for very good reason.

I agree with you guys about them not saying something concrete and then having to back on it. I get the logic behind not announcing something. But I disagree that saying nothing is the best they could be doing.

I would be happy with, "Yes, we realize reflect is bad, and it is on our list of things to change." No timeline, no solution, just acknowledgement of it that it is a problem. As it stands now, it feels like people at EmE aren't even aware of it as a problem, let alone devising a solution, because they haven't even acknowledged it. That's all I'm saying. They don't need to advertise their solution (although I think it would be good for them to ask people and get their opinion, and have conversations with us, although I understand that's fantasy-land).

As it stands, I walk around in-game, and I just have no sense that the problems with the game are being addressed. I could be a lot more optomistic if I thought the team was on the same page with the players about how the game could be improved. And if our ideas are [filtered], I don't know why they can't tell us that.

That said, I know they are a small company. I'm not accusing anyone of not working, or being lazy, or anything like that. But I do think this is an area for them to improve on.
