I'm a guy, it's an rpg (role playing game) so I'll play a male character. It's been getting more and more disturbing lately just the sheer amount of dudes that want to pretend to be a girl. This game takes the cake with the creepy factor since the Elins are tiny little girls.
Sorry the "i don't wanna stare at a guys [filtered] all day" excuse doesn't work. It's pixels you shouldn't be staring at it in that manner anyway. If you're that homophobic maybe the truth is right in front of you. Look in the mirror now and then and figure it out.

Why do you pretend to be girls?
not all servers are role-playing, there is one server specifically for this.
some people enjoy looking at a females nice toned butt all day, some like looking at dudes, it is preference.
most of us that play female characters make it obvious that we are guys, the ones who pretend to be girls from the get-go, using female names on forum+ingame are usually doing so, for scamming. (free items, chrono scrolls, w/e?)
i don't find the male body attractive, be it 3d or reality, i'd much rather enjoy seeing a female body.
especially if we have the choice.
on gender-based class games, i'm usually a guy, because it has the class i like, if it is a female character with the class i like i'll play that.
assuming people who find the male figure unattractive are homosexuals is deflection, just so you are aware.
when most people buy a car, they do it for looks, does this mean they are sexually attracted to other cars that look more bulky? nope, just preference.
i myself will be playing an Elin and an Aman male.
choosing a female character does not mean you are pretending to be a girl.

The fact that you actually identify as your character is a little more worrying imo.
I made a female toon, but i refer to her as a seperate entity. I do not project myself into the toon, i am in control of it, nothing more.
Besides, with dem boobies, how could you NOT roll a female toon?

What about a female voice for automated stuff..is it bad to prefer hearing a female voice over a male? Same thing for looking at a female vs a male. Most are not pretending to be a chick..and even more probably play BOTH female and male characters.
No one is "pretending" to be girls. You are creating a fantasy character in a fantasy universe. Not recreating yourself. There are plenty of women making male characters as well. Not "pretending to be men". The player just likes the male characters more. Simple as that.
