Right. Did you read any of the thread at all or are you really that starved for attention?
It's really not on people's computers. Switching graphics presets and hiding/showing the UI, which normally has an effect on fps, has no effect during Nexus; sometimes it will even give reverse effects.
Additionally, checking out cpu/gpu usage during the nexus shows my i7 2600k (4.6Ghz) at 15% and my 6870 at ~10%, it's definitely something server-side. RAM is also a few GB below how much I have. I'm playing from a SSD using 1GB RAM read/write caching each. Tera just isn't optimized to make use of good hardware.
My fps jumps between 30 and 0 fps during Nexus.
The problem with the nexus is the issue is two-fold. Yes there is a server component, there doesn't seem to be enough bandwidth sometimes on the servers end, and the latency jumps all over the place. I'll bet this component is strongly correlated to geography and isp.
The other component is hardware. It seems on certain systems with AMD hardware the engine just reaches it's limit or something and basically locks.
The unreal 3 engine is very much optimized to make use of hardware from 2-3 years ago. I don't think it was ever intended to display 200+ character models at once though lol.
