[Suggestion] Pet Shops

A lot of players seem to be miffed about this pet shop ordeal. I for one am not entirely bothered by it. I can see the Pro's but I look at the pro's of having them removed, and see it as a more benficial system. (RMT and what have you, and also just the tedium of looking through them is ridiculous)

So I would like to make a suggestion to EME and to the playerbase that something in the near future or even distant future may be considered for implementation.

[the suggestion]

Guild based Pet shops.

-Useable by only the upper echelon in a medium to high level guild.
-when in town Can only be placed in specific areas

[My reasoning]

My reasoning for proposing this idea is that it will keep the possibility of player pet shops but limit them to a guild function. The location of the Guild Pet shop can only be placed by the upper ranks (or leader) of said guild and then the members of that guild can Assign Items to that pet shop for sale. This will lessen the actual AMOUNT of player pet shops still around, But not necessarily decrease the range of available goods to the public.

[Finer details]

I feel however the Items sold by the guild pet shop should have the money distributed to selected members of the guild. So that people who actively participate in the economy get rewarded vs those who do not particpate but are a part of the guild. This can make it easy to distribute payment to members automatically. And to influence the Leaders status/likeability within his guild.

It also allows for the guild itself to be advertised and make a name for itself. Selling needed items at lower rates generally can put you in peoples good books. It may even get you elected as a vanarch.

Being something only medium to high level guilds can obtain/Use it will drastically cut down on how many shops you actually see, And also hopefully prevent RMT advertisement / usage as it requires Guild level upkeep that many RMT botters/workers would see as an insufficient use of their time.
[What would be required]

The way the pet shops worked/work now obviously are not enough to satisfy the proposed system. I will organize these by bullet points to emphasize some of the implications of this idea.

-Auction house type player recognition.
~mutiple players can use a single shop, the pet shop must be able to recognize who put the items in for sale.
~Ability to deliver gold/funds to players who do not own the pet shop

-Pet shop privilage controls.

~Guild leader being able to dictate who can create and use a pet shop to represent the guild.
~Guild leader/high ranks being able to dictate who receives funds from sold items through pet shop and how (I.E. a person selling an item can either receive full payment for it personally, or have it distributed amongst guild members.)

At some point during writing this I had a brain fart, and forgot a couple points I was going to make to try and alleviate some of the counter issues present with pet shops. But I am sure if the community is willing they can do that for me LOL.

Thats not a bad idea really as long as the items for sale are marked by the player who put them there / same goes for buy. It would limit it to probably 20 pet shops max at a time.

Or on the negative end it could have literally everyone and their mother creating personal guilds just to use shops and nothing changes.

__

it would need atleast a 10 player guild or something in order to use it otherwise like i said it would just be flooded with them as it is now with people making 1 person guilds.

When i read "guild based pet shops" i thought it was a stupid idea, but now that I've thought about it more it sounds pretty cool. It think it would add a fun and interesting factor to guilds and promote a sense of player community.

I like this idea! Have a rank option that guild leader can assign to allow certain ranks access to parts of the shop (just like how a leader can assign bank access and editing message of the day to certain ranks) but have the gold made from this shop put into the guild bank.

To keep everyone from making personal guilds just to have a shop, this should be a guild level 2 or 3 privilege

Which is why I say Medium to High level guilds, Or everyone will suddenly be guild leaders. The required upkeep for maintaining a guild will significantly reduce the player shops unless you have an active and strong guild with participating members.

And ty for the responses.
