So EME made a global chat channel, and was apparently surprised when people use it to talk/troll/etc. So, instead of realizing their mistake, it is now the order of the day to punish players for speaking in the channel in a manner that is "unintended". Well, where is the rule written about the LFG channel? Is it in the TOS?
I really hope you guys reconsider your choice of policing a chat channel. You had a great LFG tool already in place, why not just raise awareness of that instead? It is obvious that the players enjoy having a global chat channel for chatting/trolling/trash talking/etc. Don't let the hubris of your "intentions" blind you to your players enjoyment of the game.
All this heavy handedness will do is make the LFG channel slowly fade into disuse. The LFG tool is better, it just needs a little polishing. Heck, why just just have a LFG command like old EQ... type in /lfg SSG, and it flags your character to show up when someone is looking for the same type of group...
This is a Mature rated game, which means the players like the ability to swear, insult eachothers mothers, and just generally make asses of ourselves. Don't take away our global channel.
