TERA has no AMD users love... :(

Sup community. "Dual" here (an extremely annoying Warrior in Jagged Coast). I've been going over this issue with my machine for over 10 days now; until some awesome GM's on EN MASSE told me there's some compatibility issues with AMD CPU's with TERA... I'm getting some nasty slowdowns on some fights (Kaprina Crab for example) & some far from Optimal Gameplay. All to find out that the engine is only using 40% of my CPU while running the game!! Please TERA/EN MASSE Tweak this for us. I'm sure I'm not the only AMD User here.

Strangely enough Disabling the UI gives you a 20% performance boost in the game. (tho making it unplayable for most parts) haha. "Overlay Problem??"

My Build:
- AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE (3.42Ghz)
- eVGA GeForce 560GTX Ti
- 8Gb Kingston DDR3 Ram @ 1333Mhz
+ Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

ALL DRIVERS / SYSTEM & BIOS Updated.
Even OC'd @ 3.92Ghz (with MINIMAL performance gains in TERA only).

On the other note. I built an Intel i5 with my OLD GPU (Galaxy Geforce 460GTX), only to surprise myself that the game runs Smoother ¬_¬. Thus again going back to NO AMD LOVE.

Tera Staff: Do you guys have a work-in-progress solution for this??

Community: Anyone know of a quick *.ini config fix that helps?? THANX!

The .ini fixes wont do you justice, i wonder if all koreans have intel, or if the ones with AMD are also struggling over there

That's odd I've had no issues on the Phenom II x4 975 BE system I built a while back. It even uses a 6870 card so it's all AMD. WIth a hyper evo 212 it's sitting pretty at 4.4ghz 1.49v

The i5 is a much stronger single thread CPU then the phenom. Even in multithreaded applications the phenom has to be severely OCed to keep up with a good i5. I actually have no idea why you're not using the i5 as your primary system.

The i5 I built was for a friend I brought over to TERA, so I passed down my old GPU. Sadly AMD has never failed me before. Switched from Intel to AMD a few years back when I got a craptastic 775 CPU that turned out to be an awesome Pizza Oven.

@ ToolofSociety. Dude! So you have almost the SAME CPU as me!! Did you install a CPU Compatibility software by any source or just straight out of Windows Config driver??

I was thinking of switching to an AMD GPU because my 460gtx puts out a lot of heat. I went 460gtx over 5770 due to the huge performance boost but not sure the heat is worth it. If this game has performance issues with AMD cards though I will reconsider.

The game has issues with AMD CPU's "NOT GPU's a.k.a. Videocards" XGrunty.
That's a whole different ballgame dude.

I installed the game and played? That system is using win7 64 pro and I never fiddled around with any software to get it to run.

The game also runs very well on an e7200 that's OCed to 3.8ghz with a 5770. My fiancee plays on a stock e7200 with a 5750 just as well.

The slowest system I've ran this game on was an e4400 that's OCed to 3.6ghz with integrated GMA X4500 graphics and 4GB of ddr3. Naturally I have to turn the details down but the game runs surprisingly well at 1280x1024.

I have seen threads complaining about performance issues involving intel and nvidia based machines too so it's not likely that the problem is isolated to AMD or ATI. So far no one has really seemed to find a common thread with the performance issues being seen by some people. It could be anything from software to something with the hardware like chipset.
