TERA on Steam

I don't know if TERA will ever be on Steam, but it is currently on Origin now for $49.99 USD. Honestly, if the game isn't on Steam by now it probably won't be ever. I bet EA purchased rights for digital downloads or something for Origin. If it's a buy off VS Valve and EA, EA will always win.

Yup, Tera seems to have been eaten up by Origin :(

Seeing as how I already run TERA threw Steam. I approve of this 110%.

lol oh man.. Steam is the worst idea ever. More garbage bloatware that isn't needed to be installed on a computer.

Having a good product is good enough. Marketability will take care of itself. Word of mouth is far more power than bloatware.

anyone seeing where this is going?

Word of mouth is far more powerful than one of the largest gaming platforms out there right now? 'Bloatware':

Software bloat is a process whereby successive versions of a computer program include an increasing proportion of unnecessary features that are not used by end users, or generally use more system resources than necessary, while offering little or no benefit to its users.

So.. what part of Steam do most users not end up using? I use all of it, and those you don't need, are optional downloads.

I find Steam much more useful than 'garbage bloatware'. Many of the games I have and friends I've met today, I wouldn't have without it.

Well if you need software to load your software then by all means hop to it. I'm not stopping you. It's just an extra step and overall pointless. Aside from the Marketing. I understands it's purpose. To sell more. Period. I'm in sales and I know better. Steam offers nothing that you can't get, elsewhere.
I, on the other hand:

Download
Install
Click on icon
Login
Play game

With every other game I've used. Steam just isn't for me.

EA didn't keep their games off Steam because of a contract dispute, they did it because they launched their own competing digital distribution platform, Origin, and used their exclusives to drive market penetration.

It was actually over Steam's new requirement that DLC for games sold through Steam also be sold on Steam. EA always sold it's DLC through it own site, and did not want to meet this new requirement. Hence EA not pulling it's content from other direct download services.

Putting TERA on Origin is the single worst idea on the planet, Why give those money hungry [filtered]s your money? EA ruins every company it touches and Origin doesn't have the userbase that Steam has cause nobody wants to use it outside of playing Battlefield 3.

They can't, they have signed some sort of deal with EA.
Knowing EA's policies Steam will be strictly forbidden while using origin.
I seriously doubt they can back out of it either.

Whatever happened between EA and valve/steam we'll likely never see another EA published item on steam again.

I'm quite sure it's all EA's fault as Valve/Steam have been able to make arrangements with dozens of publishers and studios without problem.
