So I've been following the forums as a outsider for a very long time. Really it was a toss up between tera and d3 and a couple other games I was waiting for. But after playing the d3 beta I was pretty disapointed, especially after the wait time. Anyways I didn't get a beta invite for this so I pre ordered. I thought the game design was awesome and loved the idea of open world pvp again on a fresh game, since I use to play ultima online and this sorta gave me that fresh feeling that it'd bring pvp back around for me with the "skill" aiming cursor.
But Im pretty disapointed in my understanding that the beta will be open for a weekend... then closed... then opened agian for a weekend... then closed, ETC, ETC, ETC.
Am I reading that right? Or will those who are getting into the beta be able to play until release? =\

Your not dumb, its open, then closed, then open, then closed....all the way up to release...

check the beta schedules... for closed beta if u pre-order your account will continue through all the close betas... after the CBs ur account will be wipe and then the OP will start... the OP will be available i believe for everyone

That's kinda what a beta is; a few short play events spaced apart leading up to release. Beta isn't a 3 month prerelease of the game for a few lucky people.

The servers will be open every other weekend for 60 hours.

I'm sure its been said already, but do they character wipe after each beta event?

It kinda sucks, the REAL question is: if we are giving feedback about things we would like to change will the devs actually change some things?

so its only open for the weekends? so what. It sucks but It makes sense to me.

IMO, they open it for the weekends, they take our feedback and do some server configuration changes for the influx of players etc.

But like I said, the REAL question is during the testing period will we have any say in changes/ bug fixes. sorry but your just being impatient it happens suck it up they havent changed the release date yet.

If you pre-order you keep your character throughout all 5 betas.

Ok cool, i did the IGN thing just to try it out, and if i like it...full pre-order here i come

I havent read that, I would assume that throughout the closed beta characters will stay. Then get wiped before open beta. I dont recall if it will be wiped after the open and then we get the head start 3 days in advance of release IIRC.
